    aha! does this explain whilst sometimes, (and can, but not always) drive rough in the wet, and can feel like its running on 4 when it is howling down on a motorway run??!! Also had 3 sets of HT leads, all different makes, and all pop off certain spark plugs.... has this thread solved all my running rough sometimes problems!! Where's that torch and spray mist bottle!!!

    RickyVR6 correct, fuel pump relay blown, replaced and back on the road. Thanks for your help people!!

    my turn, change lead to lamda sensor, hope that fixes me issue, possibly put de cat pipe back on, service, clean K&N, I hope that's it!! Oooh, may put it on a rolling road to tune, we will see

    wires definetley burnt through, that would blow the fuse no? Thanks for advice on relay, will get wires fixed first, maybe purchase new? Possible to do that? 2 different lamda sensors... great, cheers for the heads up!!

    Found the issue. Finally jacked the car up and saw the wires to the lamda sensor melted on the top of the exhaust... At least I thi nk it's the lamda sensor... is at the front of the CAT on the top, is this right or is it something else?

    Tried Calico's suggestion, still same result. Blown fuse.So that is ruled out. Cheers Pump relay? Where is that? The big fuses above the small ones do you mean? Thanks guys

    Am booking a hotel, but taking tent too me thinks, Santa pod was really good, but OMG, so, so cold!! And yes, agree with the early summer thing, 20 degrees, slight breeze, would be nice.... dreaming though.......... Going to book chunnel and hotel this month now, although after the crash, am a bit disturbed about going through that there tunnel.......hmm, bouncy boat...maybe

    Hi All Broke down on the way to the pod on Saturday, proper fuel starvation, car just died and would not start, got car towed home (made it to the pod anyway in spare golf) However, I can get a new pump tomorrow but found that the fuse number 18 had blown (is 20 amp and is for the fuel pump) Replaced fuse and attempted to start, same as before, spark ok, air flow fine, no fuel Tried again and fuse blew Wondered if anyone had any opinions as to whether you reckon it is the fuel pump that has gone? To note - I had the ABS sensors checked over the week before and have checked for loose wires, ca

    Hi everyone, totally the wrong place for this but car broke down on way to pod last week, fuelling issue, advised by Dave to get a GSF fuel pump which I can get tomorrow, however, the 20 amp fuse for the fuel pump has blown I noticed, and replacing it, resulted in another blown fuse after a few attempts to start car.... (It didn't start at all before the fuse went) Do you reckon the fuel pump is the issue?? Comments on a post card please! joking... any feedback would be most welcome. I hate electrics. No other way I can see of asking all.... this is my best bet before I get an auto electrician

    weather looking better now, a mere minus three!! Golf MOT'd now, replaced an ABS sensor, ABS light went out, MOT passed, drove it out the agrage, ABS light back on, so lucky!!! See you tomorrow!! No snow in Oxford at the moment if that helps anyone

    May be bringing the VR now if it passes the MOT on Thursday. Is it ok to drive straight round behind the track where you will all be parked without doing the rwyb or will I have to stay in the car park by the fairground bit?
