  1. I tried looking for this last night (in the dark and on my own) - anyone got a pic/engine hot of where exactly i'm supposed to look? As I look down the back, I see the exhaust to me left and the abs unit on the back to my right (leaning over the engine) - I look down and see a few bolts...?

Buy it, break it - you'll make much more than £300-£400... then buy a proper one with your profits...
  3. I have an auto VR6 and it's abit slower of the lights but the induction noise makes up for that. I get about 25 MPG on mine, and since owning it (touch wood) ain't had a problem (just hit 100K). The internal plastics are a bit weak (heater dials/door pin/ash tray) and can break if yanked to hard. Bolster wear on the seats is something to lookout for as the car is low anyone over 8st struggles to get out and the handle to flip the front seat forward can snap as people lean on it! I just keep an eye on the oil and water (like all cars) - and the dash warns me of any problems so the electrics see
  4. Excellent - I'll pop down the local garage after work and get it on the ramp and get them to check it out.
  5. I enquired at Stealth about my VR6 (1997 - OBD II) and they said there wasn't much point unless you have proper engine mods - I assume they were referring to a full Induction Kit, Full exhaust system etc - as I only have a BMC panel filer and Scorpion rear box. Anyone else heard this? I want slightly better fuel economy, but the power is a good bonus
  6. Afternoon, I get a knocking noise from the rear on my Golf VR6 when going over bumps/pot holes etc and was wondering if it's the same problem like on audi's - rear bushes or anti-rollbar link? Can it wait a few feeks until it comes up to the service schedule?
  7. Lowering my Mk3 VR6 by just replacing the standard springs with stiffer ones? I've bought some H&R lowering springs as I want to make the ride look nice and low. When I drive the car I think it needs uprated shocks to help stop the lean over round corners, but as my wife drives the car everyday and she doesn't thrap it round corners or roundabouts is it worth the extra couple of hundred quid? I've already added some Audi TT alloys with Toyo Proxies, and this has improved the looks and handling a touch (well it grips better) and would rather spend my money on an exhaust (currently negotiati
  8. Just got of the phone from awesome gti and they say it is available for the VR6 i think about £205 inc vat/delivery... i was going to go for GMAX cause of the good reviews..?
  9. Found this on awesome GTI: http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/store/product.php xProd=3662&xSec=135 Looking at purchasing for my Golf VR6.. any good? It doesn't specify anywhere what model it's for and everywhere i've read say to go for one that says VR6 as it's a different setup on the front?
