  1. Look sweet mate - i just need to add the black detailing to mine
  2. I agree - I tried to do the easy way out and leave the 225's on my TT set and it just rubbed - swapped for 205's and all ok... cost me about £35 to swap all 4 tyres over.
  3. I personally think too wide.. too much effort to get them to fit...
  4. Get it on a ramp then it be easier to remove... I got mine replaced for £50 including fitting for a reconditioned one..
  5. Grrrr.... those clips... plus it was cold aswell so didn't help.. pain in the rear getting behind the dip-stick... alot of graft but it looks a million times better so well worth it.. I will pop into Halfords on way home and have a butchers.. how many times did you apply to get the finish? One tip if you have a go yourself, try and clean your hands as much as possible when using the finer paper with WD-40 as I still got black bits in my fingers!
  6. A bit of petrol does the trick.. wash it from inside out.. then re-oil it if need be
  7. Autosol - where can I pick that up from? Anything else I need as all I got is elbow grease!
  8. Replace the transmission fluid...?
  9. Better pics as requested: http://www.heerit.co.uk/vw/diy_polish.html Save the pics to your local pc if you want to zoom in - image been reduced on the web page. Get yourselves to B&Q!
  10. cant remember which side the master cyclinder is on when looking into the bonnet... i.e if it on the left (drivers side) then start to bleed the rear passenger first, then rear driver side, then front passenger and last front drivers side...
  11. Look exactly like Audi S3 dials - I'd go for that!
  12. I'll go with one.. let us know how to order/make payment.
  13. Get the arch work done - £70 - £100.. keep an eye out for some tyres floating on ebay while you get the alloy thats kerbed refurbed and save up for coilovers... do it in stages.. your car looks sweet as it nice, will look amazing once you've put it all on!
  14. If your going to bleed the brakes, then i believe you start with the one furthest away from the master cyclinder..
  15. I'll upload the full images to my server at lunch and post the links on here - didn't want to flood the post with large images!
  16. Finally a dry weekend, so made a trip to B&Q, got some grit paper from 60 through to 400 and attacked the manifold.. Turned out ok I think, bit more polish and paint the engine bay black and i'll be happy.. shoulders and elbow are killing me now!
  17. You want to be careful not to kerb the rears - the rim sticks out a fair bit - looks mean!
  18. Any kit you would lean towards? Been looking on Volks bits as well they have rear adjustable kits for similar money. I've got the volksbits setup on mine (not the coilover one) - for a cheap price it will do for me as the misses drives the car most - sits nice and low, handling is better than stock, but wouldn't say it's excellent - had a koni setup on a previous MK3 and it's no-where near as good.. should have saved up another £100 and got a proper setup.. but my attention is now looks/bling - so I'm happy with it - each to there own!
  19. I've decided to sell the rears... I only really need the front ones.. (currently on ebay) - 'specialist' said he is happy to machine carriers for whoever buys them for whatever car they need them on..
  20. Is this from first time in morning when cold..? Coolant sensor?
  21. The bloke who is machining my front carriers says he can also make me a setup for the rears.. he is currently creating a 298mm setup for the rear VR6 using the existing caliper and it should be similar with the porsche calipers but I can't afford to do both - costing me £700 to get the front setup done. According to him, anything is possible!
  22. Have you actually gone back and took a picture of the offending pot-hole and made a claim against the council for the damage caused to your wheel..? You pay your road tax don't you? I've heard this done in the past?
  23. Well it looks like I will have to do it that way as I've ordered the set... if it doesn't and looks like too much hassle then will probably shift them on.

    porsche seats

Not sure mate..? Are your seats knackered or you doing it to upgrade them? I can think of a few other 'Porsche' items I'd rather fit first!
  25. The wife gets around 22mpg around town and when I drive on motorway get around 32mpg... quite acceptable I think.. fill up once a month on V-Power and smack some RedEx in every couple of months.
