I nearly got one, but ended up getting a Techtonics downpipe, its a sightly larger bore.  Have to wait for it from the US though

You can buy tools so you can take the wires with the terminal pins out of the plastic connector and push them into another, saves chopping wires.

Jimjon got a reaction from D11PS in Cheap hose kit...good idea?
I bought samco hoses and they only lasted a few years, the larger diameter hoses to the rad split internally as did a couple of the smaller ends going to aux pump, I wrote to samco and included photos etc as it looked like a manufacturing fault..   But they didn't really care and just came back with me needed original sales invoice etc, which i didn't have anymore.

So i replaced with Roose motorsport hoses which looked much better to me.

Jimjon got a reaction from paceo in VR6 engine crank seal - where does this plastic mount go? gearbox side
Yep, just pushes over, tbh i remember once it being a pain and just fitted the seal without using the white thing.

You need to use a hammer and some wood to fit the seal into the timing chain cover.

I've done it three times now, its not too hard to fit the actual timing gear, its getting to them that's a pain in the arse.

Am just down the road in Dunmow so not too far away.

Will be the crank seal you want as well, fitted to the bottom timing chain cover.

I always break the price down, £200 for 4 shocks and springs and the maker and the seller are making a profit, so really your putting £25 worth of suspension on each corner.

I don't know if that's a good way to think, but its how my mind works with cheap stuff.

I'd fit new ones if it was me,  I think you can re use them but i'm a bit anal so tend to fit new stuff when possible.  I also buy them from ebay, Seller Unit15, they sell some good parts.  I also haggled the price of them down a bit as i was buying one of their new vr6 blocks at the same time.

    Hi thanks for reply.
I bought a brand new block and pistons (was a guy on ebay selling them)  Then got stealth racing to swap over the rods and crank from my old engine, i asked them to fit everything else new. So all bearings and washers etc

I think after reading your reply i'm worrying about nothing  Cheers

yeah, i've recently noticed it, has happened to me twice.
The 1st time i changed the whole gearbox and clutch then the problem came back.  Thats when i discovered the bent fork.

Jimjon got a reaction from Surreyvr6 in Alternative to undo front strut top nut?
Have you tried an airgun/impact gun, they can undo them so fast the strut doesn't spin.  Or you can try gripping the shaft/rod from underneath, although that's quite tricky as it round and can get a bit chewed up if trying mole grips.
