  1. sounds like wen me and my mates all passed our tests, i remember my one mate tryin to tell me his 1.2 corsa was goin into the garage to be tuned up to 130 gee gees wish all cars could just double thier bhp from a tune lol, thing is the bloke was adimant, he kept on about it for months. i think thats what makes it funny, when u back them into a corner and they fight the lie even more lol
  2. surly if you want square look you just go for 215 like you said, i just got my kuhmo spt 205/40/16's that are going on my 16's (same 7.5 tho) and they are gonna look slightly stretched sayin that dubmeister told me to have 195's, i could just imagine them popping off the rim at first corner lol

  4. after reading this i noticed my drivers side tyre is exactly the same, have had to put crappy space saver on till my new wheels/tyres arrive! any one rectified this problem yet? h3
  5. lol well thats what i meant, the tyres lol yea i had same prob with a clio rsi that i had and i know if you have a standard highline in great nick with decent milage you can whack 600 on the book price for them, but if i was gonna get a decent price for them it might have turned my hand

  9. havent shell changed thier fuel now? i know they have changed the name to v power but im pretty sure i read sumwhere that they have changed additives in it and it is now a higher ron!?!?!?! probably totally off the mark tho! i used to use ultimate alot but have converted back to vpower, just because the name suits the vr6 (only jokin) seriously tho i find vpower to have that extra grunt and now prices have dropped again round here (midlands) im getting it for 90p compared to normal unleaded at 85.9p, i also have flat spots when using normal unleaded and vpower seems to cure them with no probl
  10. when ever i normally lower cars i normally just get my mate to buy the stuff and fit it but he not around this time so i cant get him to do it. im after springs and shocks, just dont have the money for coilovers at the moment any one point me in the right direction please, there are to lower onto my 7.5 x 16" i know this prob looks like a dense post but any help really would be apprieciated lol H3lter
  11. got my wheels in transit from germany and dont fancy just having the origional wheels just sitting and rotting in shed, but im in 2 minds because i keep been told to keep them due to my car been standard and in great condition, so when i come to sell her she will go alot better with the original wheels! so as you can see im in a predicament the wheels are in great condition, but the middle vw badges would need replacing, but thats pence any help?
  12. hmmmm best not get that then lol! ii only had my VR a short time but love it to bits, only thing is that i had a bm 325 cab b4 that looked the dogs and used to turn heads all the time, i so miss that (im a poser at heart) wen in the VR so decided its time to make sum changes lol so knockin around on flea bay and i came across that but knowin me id blow the f*kka up lol
  13. they changed the rules this year, you will have a huge problem compared to last year. cut a long borin story short, i had a bm 325 cab few months ago, tried puttin it thru mot (which has passed before) and they now get told by computer that car has one and to test for it FULLSTOP (unless they dodgy) had to get intouch with dvla and bm to find out because it was a south african import it was built without one!
  14. thats the relay u r hearing clickin (i would guess) my driver one doesnt seem to work, as for them not workin when u not sitting in them, im pretty sure my passenger one does lol

  18. righti got 97 golf highline, looking at puttin some 15" deep dish rims on, now i want the car euro style hence y i want the deep dish, but i also dnt want them under the arches,i like the "slightly petruding look" how do you acheive this? simply buy wider rims? ie instead of 7x15, get 8x15? or is it a case of using spacers? also wot et am i looking for! any help or useful info much appreciated lads (and ladies) H3 (excuse the typing, batteries are dying in keyboard, yet again)
  19. i used to have a clio and was a cliosport member, and they used to have pictured documentation on showing you how to do the basics, and was just wondering if there was anythin like that for the golfs? if not can some one just quickly tell me best place to get the power through the bulk head on a highline? thanks h3
  20. sound sound, i knew the suspension was gonna need sorting, i just was not sure about what filter to look for etc, and from past experiance with other cars i know i gotta sort the breathing out on it thanks for all you input, much appreciated! any more info would also be great thanks again h3
  21. also, where are the best places to get things such as highflow cat etc? and how much of a diff does the mk4 head gasket make? i not looking at spending thousands just yet, especially as my golf is one of the best standard examples i have found
  22. all cheap mods then lol, been told there are better zorst systems than others for vr6's, any names? also been told that its better to have the carrado vr6 filter than the standard golf one, is this true?
  23. just cant see a 2.8 v6 only been able to put out 174bhp? might sound like a right gimp but are there any sort of restrictors etc that can be sorted out? also what are the best and most effictive ways of increasing bhp without adding turbos/superchargers etc? thanks H3
