Congratulations to the others too! . I'm not a new member of the club, was just kidnapped by some sort of rice rocket for 4 years , but now i'm back. cheers
  2. No mate, but one of my threads was linked earlier in this thread, i was investigating fitting an M90, and probably still will
  3. When i looked at the run, i could see the alternator slipping at least, even if the charger wouldnt but if you are confident, go toothed belt ?
  4. Haha, thats good!, but Ben, you must enlighten us to what you do in your spare time?
  5. looked at short runner http://cgi.ebay.de/VR6-Turbo-Ansaugbrucke-Krummer-Manifold-2-8-2-9L-CNC-/250708717053?pt=Autoteile_Zubeh%C3%B6r&hash=item3a5f676dfd , but others have used the original intake, as the intercooler helps the pipe runs
  6. Its the belt run thats tricky imo, and also mounting an m90, its big, then the intercooler or chargecooler...
  7. I know this has been covered a lot, and i have done the searches, but i have not found a definative answer for my build, my golf is OBD1. I am buildind a 2.9 Vr engine, just wondering if it is really worth me sourcing/buying the corrado intake and TB, or just use the golf ones i already have and keep the lower down torque that the golf one promotes? cheers
  8. Wish i could make this one , have a good time all, and make sure you take pics
  9. Getting crank, new pistons, rods etc checked tomorrow, and then its all going to a local firm to be cleaned, and block bored. I will order some cams next week, bearings, and all gaskets/seals hopefully . So, it will be a 2.9, and just N/A, so 3" custom exhaust will be made up, BMC CDA, cams etc. Think i may stick with Golf inlet for now, will get it painted. Will look for a nice exhaust manifold. Don't think lightened flywheel will help my cause here.
  10. Well, after a lot of thought, i drew up a few sketches and had some brackets fabricated and anodised, to mount in parallel.
  11. I fitted 2 of them so i could get 40% more power
  12. To be honest mate i have always fancied building a VR engine so thats what i'm doing
  13. Thanks guys, i'll get the full spec list of that VR and put it up here, and Ben don't worry, supercharger is on the back burner for now .
  14. Right, after a lot of thought i have decided that the engine rebuild i am currently doing is going to be for an N/A build, was going to supercharge but for many reasons, one being time, i have decided to make this new engine pokey and clean the bay up in the car, call this phase 1 if you like . Hope you lot don't think less of me lol, but i feel this is the correct way for me at the moment, and maybe for my car, i will aim for power over 210BHP, so it won't be a half hearted attempt, my mates 3 door mystic blue golf made 240BHP N/A which is serious N/A power as you all well know, so i have a g
  15. Ah i see, they normally come with a head gasket set.
