  1. previous estimate was 330kg for a VR lump http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?12706
  2. does it run as is? Have you got anything plugged into the coil other then the HT lead?
  3. Bring it on guys. I have THE original VR. It's even got a distributer not like your 2nd edition coil packs.
  4. not the way we go: E40, E42 which is the most scenic motorway route. Ironically the E42 does become desrestricted just as we turn off it. I think it's about 15km to the next junction and back ;-)
  5. Yep, all VRs do. Front of the block, just to the right of the oil filter. 4" square.
  6. According to Mr B, the relay with the big 30 mentioned on Gti forum is the ECU supply for 8vers.
  7. I swapped the engine speed senors over myself, in a lunch time, at work so must be easy ;-) Getting access when your car is slammed is the hardest part.
  8. does sound more and more like the engine speed sensor. When stopped mine reads 00513 03-00 no signal.
  9. your season is always a wash out, and a wash in and even a wash under ;-)
  10. I'm going to pack my car this afternoon in case that helps Sunday come quicker ;-) Good news for the campers: I've found a decent grill rack so BBQ food is back on the diy menu as it looks like we may be needing hot food inside us. Brrrrr....
  11. First throught is that it's had a newer engine dropped in and the old ports where left.
  12. Pull your own. Mr B says it's 2nd row up from the fuses, 3rd in from the left. printed with a big 30, 109 or 288.
  13. it does, just of a different style and in a slightly different place: http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?152075
  14. Bretts = revivals? Might pop down before I leave for the Pod as it's so close.
  15. bolts to the head: N904 762 01 ( M6x85z1 ) and N014 782 1 ( M6x25 ). Washers N011 524 23 'stat cover: N100 922 01 (M6x40) and N014 703 5 (M6x18) Crack pipe piece: N100 922 01 (M6x40) You'll have to work out how many of each you need. I've included the sizes, any hardware shop should be able to help.
  16. use a multimeter to check the resistance between the ground pin(s) on the ECU plug and the negative battery teminal. Also check the voltage across the live pin(s) and ground. Not sure which pin is which but from memory the ECU plug has 4 which are bigger than the rest, I asusme those are the supply connections.
  17. As always the 00513always shows when the car isn't running. 00543 will be because you've had the rev limit removed? The 65536 ( or -1 to us tech geeks ! ) sounds very ominous like the ECU is on it's way out but maybe just a bad earth as said. Certainly check first. For something else to try, swap in the engine speed sensor I gave you to see if it would help Steve's.
  18. Like the plate. I need a personal plate to hide the age of mine or give it a VW / DUB / VRG but on a 1992 there aren't so many options still available. Don't think so regarding rear lights. Self painting of headlights is common to remove excess silver but as you've got twins on that irrelevant ;-) Gonna move to members rides section as you've already said hello.
  19. Sals, P11 VRG, is the one to go for. She's got the shiny bug bad.
  20. yep, polished rocker cover. Also front wing bolts, bonnet catch, battery clamp, cable/hose clips.... even exhaust head shield although there's not much to be seen when it's on. here's a list of the binliners previous efforts http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?227215.post
