  1. o2 of 1,.00 is spot on. watch it whilst booting and it'll go rich and then settle back down.
  2. mines not in the car so I can't get that far so can't see what it could be. but as I say don't use the scope as it limits what you can see. Go for measurement blocks which will let you see 12 or so sensor values.
  3. you then get to select the controller you want, either engine or abs. there will then be a button to check fault codes. on the shareware versions you are limited to one measure on the scope. you are better off using the 'measurement blocks' from within each controller screen. which should let you select up to four blocks. each block then shows 4 'random' measures. You can log this to a CSV file and graph in excel or openoffice calc.
  4. don't do an autoscan. that goes and tries to connect to 256 odd modules. a mk3 has 2 / 3. engine, abs and transmission if it's an auto. Use 'Select control module' instead. strange 409.1 didn't work for you. it's the one I'm running with the same/similar lead.
  5. you have to disconnect the battery to guide against the air bag going off in your hand
  6. ->select port setting tab -> click on advanced -> select an unused com port <= 4 on the Com Port pull down
  7. under the advanced options on the port setting tab of the cables properties you should be able to force XP to use a decent com number
  8. does the usb com port you are selcting match the one XP has allocated the cable to. last time I installed mine it XP assigned it to COM5!
  9. yep, but if you've got an OBD1 car you will always get a 00513 error if the engine isn't running.
  10. needs to be plugged into car, that's the interface it looking for.
  11. lest we forget, and 'cos I promised Donna I'd reprise it an every possible situation: http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?158187.post
  12. I was still finding bits of my old ones 3 services after the change
  13. the manifolds are all plain, except a very very few very very early, like development early, ones. the writting is on a plastic cover which come in VR6-DOHC or VR6-2.8 varieties
  14. if it's still on standard suspension you'd be better throwing your money at that so you can make better use of what horse you already have around the twisty bits.
  15. or from the old ones as I see on another thread the chains have been done.
  16. afriad to say they could be from your top chain tensioner
  17. sounds about right as there's no set time to be there and we don't have to cross the river.
