    Slippers

Is that a joke or one of Lees adventures?
  2. MP3s are so common place that I think they'll never go out of fashion. For the up and coming formats I'd worry about the effects of Digital Right Management on their portability at a later date. I use MusicMatch 7.5. The encoder has three quality settings so that if you have the time to wait you get a better sound for the same bit rate. And the player has a built in library and a DJ function which will pick you tracks at random. TG
  3. Got mine from Rally design too. Ordered one afternoon, on my desk the next morning, unbelievable.
  4. I went for blue 'cos the (cheap) supplier I got them from only kept blue in stock and my top hose was pissing everywhere. If I could have waited I'd have gone for black, obviously. Now I have blue I'm looking for blue HTs like petevr6. TG
  5. Brentacre told me that my mods would be covered like for like but the policy document (from Ensign) said otherwise. After a week waiting for confirmation (normally people take their word for it!!), during wich my insurance lapsed, they hadn't even contacted Ensign so I phoned Adrian Flux who gave me a competative quote and cover within the day. TG p.s I don't have a chip just samcos, a panel filter and fk highsports. P.P.S. and don't get me started on the agro I had trying to get a full policy documnet out of them (brentacre) before taking out cover. I wanted a full wording before hand becaus
  6. when my GTi starter failed they took 3 hours, including an hour on hold, to get to me. Whilst I was freezing my nuts off in near freezing temperatures!! I could have f**king walked home in half the time. tg.
  7. What can I say! I'm glad you don't have to drive real cars with 4 buttons.
  8. The nozzle should just pull out from the outside using a pair of mole grips. When mine was blocked I took all the inside trim off before realising. TG
  9. Hi, Looking to renew my insurance and the policy document for the insurer Adrian Flux has found has this line which I can't quite understand: "Using your vehicle on any race track or circuit other than accidents to which the Road Traffic Act applies." What sort of accidents does it mean? I'm not looking for track day insurance, but I know this great little toll road in Germany 8) about which another forum strongly discourages asking direct questions to insurers. Cheers TG
  10. I need to get out more!
  11. something like this then: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5864097001633806354&q=priceless
  12. Do you think it's an installation problem or is the thing just too difficult to set up? I've read the manual and it looks like you need a degree in electronics AND computer science. TG
  13. 155k miles. Possibly on original chains, nothing in service log or any receipts to indicate otherwise. I should start saving up!
  14. Try here http://volkswagen.msk.ru/electro/golf93.zip 8)
  15. Currently looking for new insurance and have discovered that I could be out of pocket £115, on only a £400 premium, if I cancel in the 14day 'cooling off' period. But they won't, or wouldn't until I started throwing my toys about, send me a full policy wording until I take out the insurance. !dodge This doesn't sound right to me. If I buy anything else mail order and I find it not suitable I have the right to a full refund. After all I don't want a policy which excludes 'derestricted toll roads' TG
  16. Hall sender? My bosses Polo kept stalling at low revs until she had her hall sender cleaned.
  17. A tapped ABS light should have failed the MOT! Unless you made it look like there was no ABS at all. My suggestion, which I'm likely to use on my valver, is to disconnect the ABS lamp and bridge across from the Airbag warning lamp. Lamps come on, Lamps go off, Lamps come on, Lamps go off... TG
  18. Going for a week will allow me to spread my lapping out rather then binging over a weekend. Just like the new drinking laws %-6 I did a mid week day trip last season and it's a different world. Thats what I'm after, a hand full of laps at the end of each day. Nothing hardcore at all. Very civilised in fact. Unlike my weekend trip. Not one of the worst but it was still chaos. For lapping I've mostly written any weekend off. I'd expect to overheat waiting in the queue to get off the track at the end of it's first lap. I'd be happy watching, taking photos & pax laps and having my
  19. 30/6 onwards does look very good. So good, I thik I'm going to go for a week.
  20. For highsports fk55s are only for the VR6, 16vers use fk50s. The ones I got b4 christmas did have a number on the springs. But I doubt it would stay readable for long after the springs are fitted, and unfortuantly I can't remember what the number was! TG
  21. Hiya, A (provisional) 2006 timetable has been put together here: http://julesperry.com/ring-2006.htm Currently the tourist opening hours are based on a report in a german bike mag so might change. TG

    RAC Farce

This is my worst responce by far, in the past I've had no problem with either the AA or RAC. Apperantly, I was a victim of circumstance, they did apologise on the night and laid the blame on a dead call centre and having to do everything on/with paper. Complaint already sent. Made me feel better immediatly, as did this rant. I'm at least after the cost of my mobile calls and the cost of the taxi I had to call to get the cats I had just taken to the vet home in reasonable time. TG
