Hi Mark, my VR6 had done 85k miles on the auto box. The torque converter was slipping, that why I changed both the box and converter. I was hoping for £200, that would allow you to get it reconditioned for a reasonable cost. I also have a new gearbox filter and oil which you can have. It would need to be collected as very heavy.

I have recently swapped an automatic box out of my 1997 VR6 Highline for an manual 5 speed. I believe the box was fine, just the torque converter worn out. Contact me if you want more info. Ian

Does aynone know a good private mechanic in the Guildford area taht could take a look at it and if possible fix it?

My 1997 VR6 has got clutch or automatic gearbox problems! Can anyone recommend a non VW service agent to have a look at it, in the Guildford Surrey area? Lost without it.

I have a 97 Highline, the battery went dead, so recharged but the instrctions do not reset the alarm, any ideas.
