Guys was wondering if you could help me out here. I ve seen some FK highsport coilovers for 395.00 on ebay...Or the possibility of some fk automotive ak's for around 280.00. Is there much relative difference between quality/performance and price? Any suggestions welcome.. Thanks for any help in advance.

How much does a headgasket job end up being?

I might try get a second opinion but they are very good at The phirm and it seems like its a big job so i d want some one like them working on my car, some one i can trust. Might give them a ring tomorrow...I mean they suggested ebay, but thought i d get a few more opinions

Just popped down to The Phirm today just to have a standard exhaust put on due to some serious rust on the previous. I have been there lots replacing hoses, water pump etc..trying to sort out a leak i had, but we still couldnt get to the bottom of it. Ian had a look at it today and it turns out the Head gasket has gone and said i was talking big money ie 7 hrs to get the head off and because of the mileage (124,800) he said i should get the timing chains done?? Now i m a bit ignorant when it comes to the mechanics, but can work out that this is going to be a rather large hole in my wallet!

I popped to THE PHIRM, brillant guys! they did some work to fix my leaks and for once it worked!!! They recommended a de-cat and induction kit for the time being and said its very good. SO i ll go with that and see what happens. Cheers for your help

Who would you recommend to carry out the work? i m popping to THE PHIRM tomorrow to get some leaks done, so i could ask them for some ideas. Has any one had some work done by AMDtechnik? are they a good source HOWARD

yea was looking at the chips and induction kit.. Being realistic do you know how much you could get form a Dastek Chip?

Yea it looks like quite a few people use the Shrick manifold, but quite expensive. I ll have a look at some exhausts and induction kits see what i can come up with

I ve searched the forum but i never no really where to start in the engine department, s any help will be greatly received i would like to take my VR6 up to around 200BHP, what sort of engine Mods should i be looking at? Do some mods vary performance gains from VR-VR My summer Hols have been cancelled so the cash saved up is going on my car! Also what do the insurance companies think of engine modifications? cheers

I managed to get a quote fully comp. with Elephant.co.uk for £1780.30 £250 voluntary excess and i ve only just turned 20. it made a difference when i put the 'Market Value' of the car over 4K, the quote shot up! and the fact i m insured on another car helped bring it down I hope it helps some of you guys out there!
