  1. Belt went the other day - hadn't really paid too much attention to the tensioner and it was totally knackered, so replaced that too. Problem is, there was nothing much left of the belt so I couldn't see what route it went. I ( *think* I'm routing it the right way, but the belt keeps coming off the main lower pulley, so somethings obviously not right. It's going from the main lower, to the aircon, under up and round the middle one, under and round the alternator to the tensioner, Is that right? Does anyone have a diagram of the actualy route? Is a 97 with aircon. Cheers in advance !dodge
  2. Partners golf suddenly started jerking when accelerating, then progressed rapidly to misfiring below 3k, above 3k was fine. Did a search here, all seemed to point to the coil pack, got a new one (old one was cracked by no.5), swapped over but it's still not 100%. It doesn't exactly misfire, it just kinda feels hesitant, throttle response doesn't feel as good as it used to. I wondered if the plugs would get shot fairly quickly due to the coilpack. If so, I believe I need a special removal tool? Where's the best place for these and do the leads need a special tool or do they simply pull off? Don
  3. thanks for the info. Is it possible to tell whether the engine should have the upgraded tensioners etc from the engine number?
  4. Got a lateish highline, registered 5/97, done 130k now. It's got a slight rattle, which to me sounds like a heatshield/exhaust, but reading on here I'm beginning to worry it could be the timing chain. I "thought" late VR6s had improved chains/tensioners, is that the case? What's the quickest way to check if there is a problem? Is there an idiots guide anywhere? !dodge cheers in advance
