    Same here managed it big time in my old mk2 valver (lowered 60mm) doing 60 - 70 over a large quiet roundabout. My mate who was following thought i was going to roll the car as the back wheel was so far in the air..... not a chance!! ;-)

    Dont think 17" rims are that bad (on my golf VR6 anyway) steering is a little more woolly and the suspension is still quite compliant.... but admittedly it is definitely a compromise more for looks. I had 17" rims on my old corrado and it was awful!!! The backend used to like jumping out with no warning as well.... It think it depends to some extent on what suspension setup you are running.

    can pinking really be that loud- ive never heard an engine thats pinking before...... may actually check the pulleys later :-)

    yeah definitely chav-tastic. Hey jambo didnt you win a set of those clear front indicators/fogs on ebay? I was thinking about a set of those but wasnt sure..... What are they like?

    Yep just worked that one out by reading an issue of the golf while on the throne earlier :-p and noticed a cut away model of the 24v version.... thanks anyway hiten.... still will a sticking piston ring make a racket like this? Or would it be likely to constantly chuck out smoke if it was a ring? Im hoping its just a seriously faulty tappet.... Anyone else got any ideas????

    Hello all!!! OK need some advice here to either stop me paranoid or start to prepare for big bills......... This is what im planning to get done; Tappets- they are quite noisy- not unbearable just not smooth like they should be. Valve stem seals- occasionally if i put the car in 5th for say 15 - 20 minutes and suddenly drop to third and floor it a get a little blue smoke. Im going to get both these problems sorted very soon and at the same time to cut down on labour costs. Now the main thing that bothers me is this; if i suddenly plant the throttle in second (it seems most prominent in this ge

    When i was 20 i insured my 16V with Tesco as noone (not even HIC!) could match the quote i had. Year after with no problems i went to renew and there was about 20 quid difference!! Then HIC obliterated tescos quote and have been with them since!!! strange...

    hmmm i found the mk4 style lights slightly better but not a 100 quid better- more for looks. Not sure what beefing up the loom itself will achieve.... Maybe someone else will be able to help... BTW you should post some pictures of your Vento in the members car section... And thanks for the comments :-)

    Maybe the missing link and his friends.... Only kidding m8! :-) I had a 40mm drop on standard 15" rims on my old VR and it never rubbed even with people in the back so you must have larger wheels???
