  1. Thats what i needed to know :-) Didnt what to be polishing it every couple of days.....
  2. For 7" wide rims 205's will be fine. Ideally 7.5" is what you want to stretch em- dont know if this causes problems with rubbing though...
  3. A while ago a m8 who owned a mk3 16V and the other who owned a VR6 decided to race through country lane like looneys- and there was feck all in it.... however when you got a long stretch of road the VR would pull away (and the guy in the valver was caning it big time- they still like to rev like the mk 2 valver!)
  4. Ive had 2. 1 an N and 1 a P plate. Generally good but make sure the cambelts have been changed by a reputable dealer or specialist. The monkey who changed mine didnt do the bottom pulley up tight enough and the keyway on the crank was damaged. Went for about a month gradually losing power - due to the pulley slipping. This meant new crank- and lots of money. Quite nice to drive and feel a lot more torquey than the mk2 16 valve. Also feel a lot more nimble compared to a standard VR6. The P plate i owned had about 115k on it and it ran well :-)
  5. Did you do that yourself too? And does the polished stuff tarnish quickly?
  6. Neuspeed leads i think you mean- yellowslc's your man. Ive got his email address if you need it. I think they are around 90 quid too
  7. Is it hard work keeping it polished up then??? does it tarnish quickly? My girlfriends Dad reckons the best way to keep it polished is to lacquer it- but i dont think it would look as neat...
  8. Did you do that yourself the Justin??? looks mint for a home job- looks like the grooves are a bit of a nightmare though. If so how did you do it?? wet and dry wasnt it?
  9. Yeah ok Rich - stop putting my car down hehe ;-)
  10. Yeah thas what i was assuming. Might be cheaper going on your own policy too (as if youve had a claim your insurance goes up accordingly- along with the loss of her no claims bonus)
  11. Could it be the lambda probe?? (I noticed this in another thread)
  12. The saga of my smoke blowing VR6 continues.... lol %-6 Since ive been using high octane fuel i seem to be getting black smoke when i rev it hard (5k onwards) now my knowledge tells me this means the car is overfuelling. Ive recently fitted a K&N and it was doing it before then. Are there any common faults that can cause this? Such as sensors and the like. My car is chipped (Superchip). Anything i can try before thinking about ECU or swapping the chip back again.....
  13. Try Sky the ones who VR6Pete sorted for the club- check the banner at the top of the page. Or try HIC or Brentacre. Greenlight are supposed to be good but ive never tried them as of yet....
  14. Have you noticed a power drop since fitting it then?
  15. Gutting m8- nothing worse than gearing up for a job and getting half in to realise you cant continue!!!
  16. I asked for Magnecor leads i got Magnicore leads actually bagged as formula power 10mm leads!! :-| lol I was very dubious until i fitted them today- after taking off the Euro Car Parts crap i just had on there these do feel top notch. Proper OE ends and they feel well solid so as long as i can get them to fit in the trays ill keep em. Lots of guys on here warned me about the other leads- i thought id chance it and i got burnt! Never ever touching them again! Started arcing out after 3 days!!!! BTW Dont think theyll fit even if i remove the lugs... Any other ideas peeps???
  17. No worries m8. Hope you enjoyed :-) I dont think its too loud....
  18. Just fitted some 10mm ignition leads to my VR (well VR6Rich did anyway ;-) ) and they wont fit into the slots so they are flopping about ontop of the engine cover looking very untidy. Anyone got any ideas on what i can do to either fit them in the slots or something else i can do???
  19. Yeah mate. If you don't mind. Cheers. Need your email address :-) pm me if you like
  20. Muppets drilling the back of it...... What do they think a filter is for!! lol
  21. Seademon - just sent you a short clip. That took long enough- Can send it to you if you like Trackman/ Dommy....
  22. K reg onwards m8- i used to work with an MOT tester :-)
  23. Ive got a Janspeed full SS exhaust with a cat replacement pipe. On the motorway it doesnt drone at all. When its fully warmed up i think it sounds lovely but some might think its too loud. The tone does alter- the exhaust doesnt seem to hum - it a nice burble. It hard to explain a sound- would post a vid clip of me caning it but ive only got 56k dialup and it would take about a week!!! lol
  24. Got sent this - MJ's plea...... [ 1193_1007069.jpg ]
