  1. Ive spoken to my local VW / Audi specialist again and he convinced its seals- i just cant understand why it wont do it all the time if the seals were fooked.... Hes the one who told me that the UFO object that sits right next to the cam cover is a flametrap. He said 1 way to cure the oil dripping is to use a couple of jubilee clips on the middle joints that should seal. My argumant is though surely VW didnt intend on oil pissing through into the air inlet! Even if that does stop the dripping i might do what binliner did and use a aftermarket breather pipe or catch tank....
  2. OK ive been back and forth on this and still havent solved it. From what i can gather the UFO object is a flametrap of sorts and the gauze is packed in the cam cover. My cam cover gasket is weeping slightly so i will check the gauze soon. Ill probably do this though as soon as my new car arrives.... Heads coming off then for lots of new parts :-)
  3. And those RH's would have to come straight off anyway..... ;-) (like fook!)
  4. Ive put a bid in - ill laugh my tits off if i win.... Got to find the money then- lol - better start scraping up the coppers from my dusty jar..........
  5. Im seriously thinking about putting a bid in. Ive just emailed him. Depends what he wants- but if its reasonable my VR might be for sale.....
  6. Theres a russian site with loads of tech docs. Better to buy a bentley manual- thats what im going to do as im going to start the same thing :-)
  7. Nah, its ok- basically you give it decent revs- no need to pull off with the handbrake on- if youve got a good (and most mk3's havent lol) then you can usually tell by balancing it on the clutch with more revs. Youll soon know if your clutch is slipping!!! :-)
  8. Very nice m8- Im looking forward to cleaning mine- even though some w@nker took half the paint of my rear bumper yesterday!!!! Anyway nice car bud :-)
  9. Yeah the bolts can be a little tricky- i had a 2 post ramp to use though ;-) Always handy having a can of WD40 and a blow torch if its really stuck though. Its not that hard just need to take your time- and robs right you must be very delicate with the ABS sensor that sits next to the ABS ring. From what i can remember they arent cheap either. If youve got the money personally id buy new wheel bearing if they havent already been replaced- theyre only 15 quid each. Ive already had to have one replaced so its probably going to save you grief if you intend on keeping the car......
  10. Rear discs hold the racers for the bearings. You can get them out - with a chisel and hammer. Be ver gentle though cos if you damage the race youll need to get a new bearing.... You should be ok replacing just the discs and pads. The ABS rings are usually ok just try not to damage them when taking the front discs off. The sensor reads the edge. I replaced my discs and pads on my old VR and didnt need to replace any of the ABS kit so hopefully you should be ok.....
  11. Ive never owned a Clifford but always had the misconception that they were the best! Now i know not to waste my money on branding!! Toad have always been great :-)
  12. Yep - id have gone for the 16V personally even though the CC's got leather.... i find the CC's colour scheme inside a bit chav like in bright colours. Did they do a black colour concept? Ive seen jazz blue, red, bright green and yellow.....
  13. Fair play m8- theres some lovely looking golfs there- Yours and Six Appeals Mk3's look sweet....

  16. If you do end up getting a coil pack (but hopefully not) check out Ford and get a price as the same part is used one the Sharan 2.8 V6. Ive heard they are much cheaper although i havent compared the actual price at ford to Euro Car Parts price.....
