I dunno- There f*ck all to clean!!! Very smart job that- doesnt look quite finished though. Its surpising how small the lump looks in that mk2!

ACF: to be fair the engivnes in them are pretty bombproof- i have a friend of a friend who works for Honda as there parts manager- he says theyve had 1 replacement engine in 3 years! With hardly any warranty work- bit of a change for him compared to Jaguar!!! i spose over a longer period of time (say more like the age of our VR's) then maybe things will start to show....

I bought some new discs from GSF for my old VR. After about 2k of bedding in i then did a high speed stop- and it warped them!!! You could feel it shaking when braking. Last time i ever buy discs from ECP or GSF!

Yeah a VR would slap it in the face in gear :-D I had a brief encounter with a accord 2.2i type r a while back while on the motorway- wasnt much it it at all.....

Awkward question that m8.... Thats a lot of money for 3 little rust spots. It depends where they are. I know a guy whos just sprayed my Mrs car (brand new Volvo S40) and thats been blown in and you cant tell at all! Really good job. And its an difficult pearlescent/ mettalic colour. He quoted me 200 quid to do the door, and arches on mine. I know House of Colour are supposed to be really good but £1000 is a lot of money.....

Just seen this thread floating about- i ended up getting the 4 wheel allignment done at protyre in Gloucester £42 all in :-) It wasnt perfect 1st time i got it done so they took it back and got it spot on for me :-) Apart from the 2 trips (luckily i only work 2 minutes from them), a job welll done.

A friend of mine had a mint '67 2 tone beetle GTC replica (i think thats what its called) beautiful car 160 BHP and all to the rear wheels- would rev to 8k!!! Only pronlem was there was no limiter so you had to be very careful!!!!!

Very much doubt you'd get it in the back without welding a box on the back lol. Thats why most Beetle tuners go the porsche flat six route due to the lower height of the lump.

I was tempted by one of them before i bought my 2nd VR. Quick motor- when its running right. Wouldnt trust a fiat. Nearly bought a bravo HGT before that! Until i read the reviews- cambelt needs changing at 60k for a start- and the engines got to come out!!!!! Electrical faults everywhere.... Hate to think what the coupes like.... As you said bud- a cereal box on wheels.

lol very good Stu- The cars costing 4200, flight to cologne airport around 60 quid, petrol and ferry/ hovercraft back to the UK Dover for 60 quid. I need to look into TUV/ MOT rules etc as id like to drive on German plates for a bit ;-) 1st thing i need to do when i get back is register it which cost 34 quid - theres no duty as the car is over 6 months old- thats the rules :-) For the MOT i know ill need RHD headlamps (An excuse to get some mk4's i think :-)) and im not sure but i will need the speedo changed whether or not its a requirement for the MOT as otherwise itll be a pain! Its near Colonge Airport. Talking a 2 and a half hour drive to calais. The guys going to pick me up which is cool. And he lives 30 KM from th 'ring. Think ill wait until im used to 4WD before i start ragging it round the ring though!! lol Hes sending me everything he can think of in English to do with the car plus more pictues to wet my appetite.... :-) Will post them soon or might wait until i get the car to avoid tempting some kind of horrible fate lol ;-)
