  1. basically Pete if theres a leak in your head gasket from cylinder to water jacket for example the oil is getting pushed into the leak into the coolant system so thats where the oil (gunk) and pressure is coming from by the sounds of it. Get your coolant system pressure tested- that should show a drop. Any white gunk on your oil cap?
  2. That is sweet, wonder if it still exists????
  3. Are the rad pipes rock hard when really hot- they should be if its pressurising the coolant system.......
  4. sounds like oils got into the coolant system, so yeah can only be the headgasket imo. What red light was flashing? If the coolant temp was normal it couldnt of been engine temp. What was your oil temp? did you check it? Its 80 quid for a headgasket set for a start, if the heads coming off my as well change valve stem oil seals as they are only cheap.
  5. Looks nice and clean m8- tidy :-)
  6. Supersprint are supposed to be the daddy but expensive so i hear. Ive got a bespoke job with high flow cats and it sound lovely....
  7. Very nice m8- again seen it on E38 :-)
  8. pmsl- maybe cos they're cloth hes trying to goad you ;-)

  10. Although im still up for campoing though! :-) and getting pissed :-D
  11. we'll see dont know if the VR will be on the road by then though...
  12. The K&N units came with a metal bracket to attach to the suspension turret- it went over the two bolts...
  13. Thought someone on here said you need to be very careful when doing it- especially when starting it up when changed... Do a search on the forum mark.....
  14. It in the downloads section m8, and its in the manual, and its in the bentley manual :-D
  15. botom end is usually v. strong.... You could always change the rings if you wanted absolute perfect compression.... its not really needed though. If youve got tons of spare cash get some forged pistons and ring set in preparation for the turbo ;-)
  16. Dont get the leads from GSF if you can afford not to- they are crap!!!!! (sometimes you end up with an ok set but its not worth the hassle) Get Magnecor ones- they are 100 quid but come with a 10 year warranty!!! I bought a set of leads from GSF- and went to RR day 2 weeks later only to find out they were already fooked!...
  17. !6" rims would definitely not rub.... You'd be fine with that. I lowered my old VR6 by 35mm on 15" BBS rims and not ever did i experience any rubbing. Theres a standard 50mm tyre wall on the standard rim (or mine were anyway) You using 45 tyres and are not lowereng...... yuod probably get away with a very slight drop in ride height with the 16"s too...
  18. Gwent VW can get hold them.... Not sure about offset but dont go too silly as it'll ruin the handling
  19. May as well fit new tappets, valve stem oil seals and valve springs if youve got the spare cash- youll have a nearly new top end then! :-D
  20. Looking at the enigne, on the right hand side where all the ignition leads plug into ... Its a metal block... Unless yours is an early car and has a distributor cap......in which case its not the coil pack ;-)
