    Yeah Mark- from what ive been told by the mechanic, and on here- chuck an uprated clutch in m8- you know you want to! ;-) Mind you the hydraulic bolt is the only thing thats gone on mine- maybe the same on yours (as yours is a late model too)in which case its just cam cover off job...

    Just spoke to the mechanic- seems like ive been ver lucky so far (fingers crossed!) Its the bolt tensioner that isnt holding charge apparently. 30 quid to sort- top rail and all is fine :-D A few other bits to do though- CV gaitor, inlet pipe has a big hole in it!!!, meaning the MAF wont be able to do its job properly, and transfer box is rubbing against the bottom strut brace (he thinks) apart from that all clear!!! :-D :-D

    Whoa! that is nuts!!!! I was in Wales on the weekend and it was nowhere near as bad as that!!! Funny as i live in Gloucestershire too!!!

    So which part is usually at fault ? Does the blade part usually wear if the tensioner bolt is left for too long?

    Yeah nice one Rich- ETKA- spot on :-D Still no verdict- will find out early next week- so pre-epting the outcome if it is the tensioner... ;-)

    Ok, ive looked through the threads on the site but cant find anything definate. The top tensioner consists of one bolt and a blade of sorts (looked on ETKA) now my vw specialist tells me that to change this, the box needs to come out- is this correct? I thought this was only necassary to change the complete chain..... Advice as always, is much appreciated :-)

    Yeah ive just got a new mondeo (i know! lol) and that gets the same rotten eggs smell- it should be expected with a new cat......

    Clive- we may have a role of facilities coordinator- basically in charge of anything that needs a clean and need to bealways on hand to make a good cup of tea ;-) hehe Seriously though ill see if theres anything about tomorrow- my sector is more geared toward IT support, but ill see whats about on the intranet tomorrow m8 :-)

    If the cars really stiff then the limit will always let it self be known much more quickly than a softer setup - which lets go progressively. But then at least with it nice and stiff you can shift weight easily, and its not rolling everywhere. Cant fault a it of lift off oversteer hehe ;-)

    if you payed via paypal and boguth off ebay you are more or less covered- if he described them as perfect but aint- all you need to do is go on paypal and put in a complaint against the seller- needs to be within 48 days though!

    Ive got 75 including P&P.... So about 65 quid im going to accept the offer as if i take anymore than that ill be robbing someone..... (ifeel bad enough taking this much!!!) I suppose std light and kit for 65 aint that bad..... is it???? lol
