  1. A decont highline would probably fetch a similar price here- although it would be LHD so it probably wont fetch as much... Depends if you want to keep the car cos they didnt make a 2.9 highline over here mind you.....

  4. I had a similar experience with ignition leads- they told me they could get Magnecor leads, i was sent (2- 3 weeks later- and after many phone calls chasing them up!) was sent 10mm leads from a company called formula power- looked decent enough but werent magnecor and wouldnt fit in the tray! I then phoned them up and mention the fact that i didnt receive magnecor leads, they then sent me petronix flame throwers, after that i gave up...

  11. Got my VR back!!!, ive been a very lucky boy- not only was the chain tensioner bolt completely fooked allowing the chain to skip over the cam sprockets if it wanted (which very luckily it didnt) but also the rear diff was very nearly completely out of fluid, so all done now, and also had the inlet manifold polished while it was there- be rude not too really.... 8o8o Had the bottom strut brace removed cos it was rubbing against the transfer box, had all the fluids changed, and a CV gaitor, and a few other bits.... total bill including the polished inlet manifold- 380 quid. :-) VR now runs beati
  12. Do you know where he came from? That landline number is my area! ;-)
  13. i was quoted around 300 to do the seals at a specialist...A specialist will use a special VW tool (a threaded air line socket that screws into the spark plug hole) this keeps the valves up while replacing the seals. If you take it somewehre else they may quote you a lot more cos they would probably take the head off!..... hope that helps....
  14. a blown engine always produces bucket loads of torque along with bhp... As minty says- the only way your gonna get near 225 ib/ft is by supercharging....
  15. ill have a short back and sides please.....
  16. good luck m8! hope all goes well with your next purchase (rice man) ;-) Watch those wet roundabouts....
  17. blue smoke on the over- run- if your lucky breather. However im 99% certain- its the valve stem oil seals the oil builds up around the seals and when you accelarate at the bottom of the hill for example, pressure pushes the oil passed the valves (via the worn degraded seals) into the cylinder and gets burnt- thats where the blue smoke is coming from... valve stem oil seals can be done with head in situ- need a VV specialist to do it though, using a different oil wont solve your problems- a thicker oil will calm it down slightly......- use a 15w40- but ideally you need to change the seals and
  18. Gutted for you m8- im sure the cloud will have a silver lining though- mk 2 golf would be the way forward... :-)
