    good news that jon...At last an easy fix :-) ps not a hijack, but..... my cars going back to the garage tomorrow to have this knocking noise looked at again... ill let you know... :-)

    If you want a debadged one- go for JOm, as these are 2 piece and use a metal bottom part.. :-)

    tyres are measured by the following.... 205/40/17 breakdown of this is:- tyre wide (mm)/tyre height (mm)/ inner diameter of tyre (inches) tyre width all depends on the width of the wheel.....

    I personally have done 140 in my first VR. The motorway was clear with no approacing junctions.. have i done that speed since- no. I much prefer acceleration to top speed now anyway. My personal view is that you should always know your limits- and thankfully i do. Last thing i want is to lose my license as it would be bye bye career!

    could be the clutch hydraulic slave cylinder- these tend to make a ratchet type sound when they start to deteriorate... Although this noise would be from the drivers side...
