    mate, that really bad news.... :-( Its not nice when things like this happen- sounds really strange though for engine to seize after putting oil in. Whats the mileage on it?

    the way i look at it is... there will always be cars faster than ours thats just the way it is. Some of us have charged VR's which are quick, put that against some of the tuned impreza's and the like and they wouldnt stand a chance.... its about how far you or the guy down the road with his Ford/ Vauxhall/Renault is prepared to go to get the ultimate power rush. Thats the fun of owning a modded car- you can never guess the exact power just by looking at the badge like a std car.... Im ready to acknowledge any car if the owner has put lots of work into engine wise it and it doesnt reak of fibr

    thats a very good question , and short of pulling my dash out to find out id say not- the climatronic uses motors to adjust the internal airways for say when you select demist or footwell. Its bound to be possible though....

    It was quite possible that the last owner put diesel oil in my syncro according to the mechanic i use- he normally advises not to use engine flush but as it was so full of crap he reckoned it was a good idea... no problems whatsoever.... just be careful- on a high mileage early example id not reccomend it!

    got to agree with eat this here- mk2 was defnitely VW's defining moment - that car was like a tank! And a great drivers car too... ans its true of the mk3 as well- i drive a brank new ford mundano everyday and when i take the VR out it still feels a step up in engineering and how old are the cars?.... :-)

    turbo a syncro or if money no object fit the entire R32/ haldex 4wd system to replace viscous coupling setup, HGP turbo, and bling all the engine bay, everything smoothed (while being not over the top) R2 konig leather seats... man the list would go on and on and on.....

    in my eyes for one it looks a lot 'cleaner' and secondly why the need to bragg about the engine? I know whats under the bonnet thats what matters. Its much more fun when you surprise people when you pulling away from them ;-) Although i think mine isnt the most subtle of golfs....

    and the clocks won work without a signal converter- 4pot to 6pot signal.... i love those clocks too!!
