    white smoke means nothing on a normally aspirated car!!!! blue smoke means oil is being burnt- on the overun- this definitely means valve stem oil seals are your first job, failing this you could be looking at the valve seats or guides... black/grey smoke is overfuelling- this COULD be the lamba probe- these cause all sorts of issues- get it replaced and give it a try... :-)

    3 bolts- really easy- just move the carpet and you'll see them at the back of the lens- i had some aftermarket inpro's that leaked.... Hella seem to be fine though

    touche ;-) good stuff mate - im about to start my bumpers this weekend- and im glad to hear that the guys who have done yours have done it how im doing mine- with fibreglass and less filler.... i planned to use fibreglass paste for the intakes and then the same from the back- possibly with some hidden screws for good measure... :-) bet you cant wait fell :-D

    IM not a fan of the arches either, but then mintys old VR seemed to work really well with the arches and 9" schmidts!

    I used to have one! they aint bad, but not a patch on the VR due to the torque. Handle really well though- they have strut braces front and rear as std.

    Firstly i dont consider the £10 fee to be off topic as if you joined you would be able to use the facility- problem solved. You have to agree that at least this puts off any potential shady character from just posting their car up on here for free rather and thinking its a cheaper option than autotrader for example.. Just look at VWVortex for examples of how not regulating the for sale section has gone horribly wrong- theres people being ripped off left right and centre.     Well for instance i bought a set of so called angel eye headlamps from a non registered member on here, and guess what- they were complete crap!! I was completely ripped off, and i completely agree with the idea of locking down this part for premium members. If your serious about the club, and want to be a part of things and help it as much as possible, i dont see the harm in donating 10 quid for the cause?- its not asking a lot is it??? It helps keep the club going, and allows us all to attend club displays for nothing, and also funds things like the cool display banners (Which helped up win

    The turbo is quite a small unit so lag wont be a problem... If you were sticking on a big Garrett ball bearing turbo you would probably be worrying more about lag! My friends selling one thats capable of pushing a 4 pot to 600bhp!!

    The mk3 has a real shortage of decent wing mirrors available!! Projektzwo mirrors are sweet but theyve stopped making them :-( Hagus do wing mirrors but these are expensive new- i might be tempted to sell mine though for the right price ;-) heated and eletrically adjustable... :-)

    a friend told me that the transmission loss was calculated by the time the car took to come to a halt (or the rolling resistance of the transmission) i always wondered how this was calculated....
