  1. You need to undo the bolts that are on each side of the caliper. Still need to get the bolt spacers for mine...
  2. they do still make them- i saw an advert for one in evo magazine or was it a vxr??
  3. nice mate - i know your valver :-) Seen the pics on e38 i think.... Any plans for the vr??
  4. I agree that some parts are inferior, but even the parts that VW use are sometimes show to be faulty after a few thousand miles. How many warantee claims did VW have on the mk3 golf? Id imagine quite a few! Only difference here is that VW replaced the part free of charge, whereas unfortunately if you buy it and get it fitted- you'll have to take it back out again- get a refund, and replace it. Mind you there is no excusing those crappy GSF ignition leads- from memory they were supposed to be oem- had them on my old vr6 for about 3 days and they started arcing out... awful!!!!
  5. lovely motor clive- very tuneable too :-D Make sure you stick around though fella :-)
  6. yeah i saw that article too and it looks like theres going to be a big clamp down next year... better buy some quick before they become illegal! ;-)
  7. thats what ive got too mate... im liking the look as well.... plus no stone chips after spray time ;-)
  8. sounds good to me mate.... :-)
  9. yeah agreed, apologies Nerih for making the sarcastic comment-i should of removed it (i wasnt aware until later on that you were actually on holiday)it was just a big coincidence that you went on holiday at the same time this all kicked off.. However i do feel bad for the people who have lost out to this even though im not one of the unlucky ones... Hopefully you can all sort this out and get your money back- thats all that matters....

    Carputer

that is awesome!!!!!! rather large mind.. and i would feel alittle paranoid in leaving it anywhere... not that anyone would be able to do anything with it if they did. but you know what scallys are like.... ;-)
  11. will be nearer spring mate- might try and organise a more central one depending on numbers and where these people are... :-)
  12. now e48 m3 is a different kettle of fish.... nearly went to look at one of these last week... but i need to get a house lol... Dont forget the 330 club sprt which is a much rarer car than the 330 sport.. These coupes have taken a real hamering of late due to them being sooo common. My mum for instance bought her 325 ci at 21k - 2 years later she got offered 9.5k for it at a bmw dealer!!! Same thing happened to my mates dad with a 330 club sport individual.. lost over 3.5k in 5 months! Not the car you really want to go for if she plans on getting anything back on it. Z3 coupe? Porsche boxter? n
  13. no way!! :-D Think a watercooled 911 turbo engine would be even better though :-D
  14. velcro matt with spray adhesive to the bottom of the sub box? Then it should stick to the boot carpet. Thats what i was gonna try until i went to put my new sub in the boot.... I dont have any space in my boot at all - have to lay the sub on it side as the boots so bloody shallow!!! and ive got amps on the other side so theres nowhere for the sub to move!!
  15. yeah front and rears are 6.5, but i was told the back tweetwera are a no no... Thats why i was thinking about replacement dash speakers as i know you could get them for the mk2
  16. so these fit straight into the top of the dash? what size are they nick??
  17. yeah definitely nick- i suppose they are coaxial 2 way speakers? They should be fine and definitely much better than std. I was speaking to justin the other day and he reckoned that just having coaxials alone made a big difference when he had them :-) Ive put 2 way coaxials in the back of mine and components in the front- which were a bit of a bitch as youve got to run cable everywhere... and amps running them in the boot so even more cable! Wouldnt mind getting some replacemnts for the dash though... Anyone know of any good ones that fit straight in?
  18. ive read elsewhere that there arent any decent tweeters you can fit in the rear quarters... better off fitting some in the fronts - ive mounted mine at the top of the A pillar :-)
  19. same here - 205's on an 8 are fine- im going to stretch to 8.5 with these tyres soon and see how i get on.... ;-) see you on the other side lol
  20. very nice mate- again loving the lights :-)
  21. R32 all the way. Like the beemer- my mum used to have a 325 with tiptronic.. nice car but the build quality wasnt all what weve come to expect from bmw imho. Leather wore really quikly too. S3 is nice, but it would have to be the R32... its more unique than the bmw 330, and it has a nice, smooth 6 pot to cruise along in which the audi unfortunatly doesnt. S4 is a different ball game mind- especially the new one! ;-)
  22. there is a cheaper option which is what ive used on mine and i think it does just as good a job as the bmc.... (and it looks nicer imo) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/93-94-95-98-VW-Jetta-Corrado-VR6-Cold-Air-Intake-W-CF_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ38634QQitemZ8025327900QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWD2V not the same oner i had - i had mine from intake_power on the bay and im happy to recommend them too....
