  1. As I said, its because the airbag connector would have been disturbed.
  2. No need to take it to VW if you know somebody with VAG-COM, there's a post in the forums (here http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?146266 ) with a list of people with VAG-COM (me included) and their locations who are willing to help fellow dubbers ;-)
  3. Did you find out what the problem was JK?
  4. Ditto, did exactly the same myself then realised the 5 litre oil pan I've got wasn't big enough for the amount of oil in the engine lol
  5. More then likely the airbag wiring was disconnected while the battery was still connected, causing a fault code to be raised on the airbag ECU. I expect if you just clear the faults using VAG-COM then the light will go away.
  6. The seals do go on the thermostat housings and its just easier to replace the whole lot as the housings become brittle over time too.
  7. Maybe that will be another download to come in the future? LOL
  8. Yeah its a tinted plate with the spacing removed, did have a front one too but I left that at home before going to VolksFest :-( Should have removed my front number plate holder for the photos rreally.
  9. Thought maybe a special tool was need mate. :-D Take it you did yours as well Gary?
  10. Nice one, keep the updates coming. What did you use to remove the valve stem oil seals?
  11. TBH if its as good as he makes out (immaculate, low mileage and full VWSH) and with £1000 worth of stereo in there then £2800 isnt that bad a price to pay but make sure the mileage is verified. The 200bhp thing is just an estimate I recon, though mine has shown 192bhp without a decat and remap so its entirely possible.
  12. Banwell castle. just off the A38 between weston and cheddar.... was the coolest place to stay i've been in a long time..... Yeah thought it was, just a stones throw away from Claires house! Was it expensive?
  13. Where is that place you stayed at Richie? Think I recognise it but not sure where from.
  14. Thanks for the nice comments mate. I didn't notice this before but does the graffiti in the background on the shutter look like 'VW' to anybody else? [lightbox=../../e107_files/public/1181509719_421_FT0_dsc00372.jpg][/lightbox] If so, it was purely coincidence and we had nothing to do with it ;-)
  15. Here's mine ;-) [lightbox=../../e107_files/public/1181509719_421_FT0_dsc00368.jpg][/lightbox]
  16. Ill put better quality photos up when I get them from Warren as he took them with his super-duper camera :-D
  17. After Bristol VolksFest me, Warren and Andy decided to find some good locations for a few photos of our cars. Heres a few photos I took with my phone camera: [lightbox=../../e107_files/public/1181509719_421_FT0_dsc00368.jpg][/lightbox] [lightbox=../../e107_files/public/1181509719_421_FT0_dsc00372.jpg][/lightbox] [lightbox=../../e107_files/public/1181509719_421_FT0_dsc00373.jpg][/lightbox] [lightbox=../../e107_files/public/1181509719_421_FT0_dsc00377.jpg][/lightbox] [lightbox=../../e107_files/public/1181509719_421_FT0_dsc00378.jpg][/lightbox] [lightbox=../../e107_files/public/1181509719_421_FT0
  18. Are you replacing all the pumps, etc? What are the plans for it?
  19. Will keep a watchful eye on this one. Top marks for giving it a go though, would love to mine myself but having the space, time and the right tools/knowledge is what is hindering me. Good luck. BTW what mileage was this engine?
  20. Just did a bit of resizing for you mate ;-) Nice to meet you and finally put a face to a name! After seeing those camping photos I really wish I came up for the weekend now. P.S. thanks for the pic of my car, didn't take any myself apart from a few afterwards on the way home. Ill put them up in a thread under members rides ;-)
  21. Had to resize your pics mate. Looking lovely those wheels, are they Porsche fitment? Get them from German eBay perhaps?
