depends when the dates are claire, i'd love to attend but am on holiday late sept/early oct, but middle of oct would be cool. should be all/schricked and cammed by then so would love to see what the cold weather would bring. althoughour summers are getting later and later so judging by the start of the year it willbe tropical heat and humid air up until dec!

i have a storm sigle set up on mine, and as you say, doesn't sweep as high up as the 2 arms together but have had no problem with the view out in very heavy rain! it does actually sweep quicker than the 2 arm set up though! plus it looks ace low in the screen and 1 arm = less drag, lol!

if anyones got an idea for some sort of club flyer too, i can get a load copied at work if someone would like to send me a master copy?
-
sounds like a good ides peeps. i can drop a tenner towards each to pete at inters if thats okay?
-
there was one for sale on here a while back, around 4.5k i hazard a guess but depends on mileage of engine , quality of installation i guess! and its white, not an overly popular colour!
-
worcestershire, midlands for me!
-
cat back scorpion stainless, with boxer tailpipe! excellent fit, not over boomy at low revs, quietens up further up rev range so okay on motorway too! £300 from venom , free delivery.
-
i run that size tyre on 8" wide rims on mine and, as tommy says, get some rubbing at the back on uneven surfaces! although i cant go to the smaller width of 205 as the tyres are tight on the rims now and would look silly if smaller!
-
or you can just get in touch with revolution motorsport, who supply the same koenig seats as in the r32, in different guises, in , more or less, the colour of your choice to match your motor, and subframes too, for not much more than an r32 front seat pair and re-trim of rears, plus subframe work will cost you anyhow!
-
i tried hic last year and they gave me a stonking quote of £826, comp, no no claims (as being used on another vehicle), all mods declared , limited to 7500 tho, but then i've only done 1500 since i insured it anyhow!
-
love the look of the r32, no doubt its the all round package that would provide a solid groung for serious fettling. having raced one in my vr however, and he was defo giving it some(4 wheel slides into roundabout is not shy) i'm not sure i would spend my hard earned on one! i would be upset to say the least if a ten year old vr could keep up with my 24k supagolf!
-
in all fairness tho mina, the conditions weren't perfect for your beast that day as i recall, so hardly a fair appraisal of your motor! perhaps you should have taken elliot for an "on-road" excursion to convince of your "normal" times! lol

have to agree with six appeal on the obd2 debate, in general they do come out with more power thanks to the refined management system of the later cars, not just highlines, which is why i, amongst others, was quite surprised at our rr day at stealth when my obd1 with just zorst and filter produced the highest reading of the na cars! obviously there is the exception to the rule! i always felt the old 2.8 i took out was strong, wish i'd spent my money on a charger now instead of a 3.1 rebuild!
-
btw still cant get the link to work for me as i cant log in to no rice site for some reason!
-
i would try one on the car first b4 you make your final decision as you wont be able to get the car as low as you have it now i fear because of the width and offset! mine is lowered 50mm at the rear and it catches the back edge of the arch on bumps/bumpy surfaces at normal driving speeds! i have 17*8, 35et too!
-
the thread leads nowhere as far as i can see olly, give as working one and we'll tell you what we think! i think you will struggle with the width and offset as i already have 8" wide rims with a 35 offset and get probs at the rear with rubbing!
-
well i know gwent vw are currently sellinf the ak version for £359 inc vat. no doubt they will be slightly cheaper at inters so how does £300 sound now? was gonna get these as cant be arsed fiddling about with rebound settings any more, but was gonna wait to see what price i could get at inters for them! what are they like for ride?
-
lol, stating the obvious, but also very, very correct! and they say life is boring?
-
acf- am i right in thinking its more like an lsd on the golf as opposed to traction control? traction ,in general, is an electronic limiter that reduces power in the engine, regardless of throttle position, when it senses a spinning wheel. an lsd on the other hand , will still allow the engine to rev freely while, in most cases, transfer wasted power(a spinning wheel) to the other driven wheel to balance the forward motion! most noticeable in an atb diff, obviously! this is only a rough guide to the differences between the two, as manufacturers employ different systems throughout , and no do
-
acf-think you're wrong there with colour choice! i would prefer to own a black 3-door, but own a windsor blue 5-door! purely down to the fact i looked at loads of vr's and most were shite, in all colours, and eventually found a good, honest, straight car and it had too many doors but loved the colour! now it has a couple of dings, scratches, stone chips, and i would still love a 3 door, but cannot justify the extra expense on a similar car which may not be as good as the one i have!

dont do it speedo, shop around, even on the net. try the toyo's and you wont be disapointed, just dont expect them to last you all year, but the dry/damp grip they give you will have you pushing the car where its not been before!
-
i've had a few sets of each now and i'd say the toyo's are better in the dry ,and with grip ,as the compound make up is softer, hence the wear. the pirelli's i've had are as good in the wet as they are in the dry but not particularly outstanding at either, a harder compound is the reason, hence the better wear! you take's ya pick, good all round performance(pirelli) or better dry traction(toyo), but who gives their car loads of hammer in the wet anyway? only someone who can really drive like acf, or a stoopid boy! besides, toyo's are slightly cheaper than pirelli's in my experience. %-6 [

the crunch will be the syncromesh on its way out. its a re-knowned weak spot on these gearboxes. only way to permanently resolve it is a box change/rebuild i'm afraid! the cable change boxes dont like to be yanked into gear like a rod change can, and too many standing starts at the pod has taken its toll on mine too!
-
their cars are in this months pvw which is out today for those without subscriptions
-
pretty sure it can be used! just gotta make sure your car is well looked after and dont go for too big a jet to start with! 25/50 jet to start would be advisable, but have it on good authority these engines, when set up right , can handle 100hp + in some instances! reputable companies should only be entrusted with the fitting and supplying of nos though, ie wizards of nos, highpower systems etc!
