  1. I deconed the airbox on mine and fitted a K&N panel filter a couple of months back. There was no point buying an induction kit 'cos I'm going supercharged later this year. It certainly did improve the induction sound - a recommended mod for that reason alone. It's a tight fit in the airbox, but it does come out if you are persistent.
  2. I've done both the oil cooler & aux water pump on mine (was leaking coolant like a sieve) Prices I paid were: Oil cooler
  3. WRX STi and import WRX scooby engines put out 260BHP-300BHP, although there is a fair bit of transmission loss through the 4wd. To keep up with one of these you'd need to go for some sort of forced induction, supercharging being the easiest route.
  4. The wheelspin going into 2nd is my favourite, but then I'm a total hooligan...
  5. Excellent work so far! Can't wait to see how it progresses!!
  6. I thought about doing the same thing once, a 4Motion with a supercharger. Bet it goes like buggery! Always good to see a Mk4 owner in the VR6OC. The more the merrier!
  7. I've got one too. Top system. Lovely fit.
  8. They could have at least put a rubber grommet over the hole!! What a bunch of cowboys! Get them to swap out the glass for the correct type. The correct one should just have 3 small holoes, for mounting of the spoiler.
  9. If you want exciting power delivery and lots power per
  10. Page settings are done in the application you are printing from, e.g. Microsoft Word. In "Page Setup" you can define a custom paper size.
  11. It's good to hear you've had a good experience with NSR. All eyes are on them at the moment with all this talk about supercharger group buys.
  12. Doesn't make a lot of difference to the noise, but I think it does protect the paint.
  13. Got to get the cabrio resprayed. Been quoted
  14. The Intercooler on the VF-E stage 3 kit is a corner-mount unit, I think. Goes next to the Radiator. You get lots of (shiny) pipes running across the engine bay. You will definitely need to swap your cams for 248s though. Stealth may be able to do a p/x on your 268s, as these are in higher demand due to more people with n/a VR6s. You will also need a custom remap, but, God that thing is going to fly!! Could be looking at VR6OC's most powerful car once it's all done! Is that a Carbon Fibre bonnet btw?
  15. The guy must have shares in a polishing company. Awesome looking engine though.
  16. Also, the strengthening it provides to your car could increase the damage done to someone elses car if you hit them.
  17. I did this job on my old VR, I used one of these:
  18. Thanks for reading thru the thread Nick! When it comes right down to it, I can't bring myself to abandon the project, even though it's going to end up costing just 5 grand short of an R32. I've secured another car now for the daily hack to work, so the cabrio can be taken off the road for engine repairs, a respray and probably more mods. Watch this space!
  19. A new O ring for both the drain bolt and the plastic filter housing cover should be included with the oil filter. It is a good idea to "dry crank" the engine (turn it over on the starter with the plug leads disconnected) for about 10 seconds or so before starting. Otherwise, the engine is starved of oil while the filter housing fills back up.
  20. Take a look at this guide on the corrado club forum. It is for the installation of a Schrick manifold, but the VW Motorsport VSR should be a similar procedure: http://www.corrado-club.ca/mods/schrick.html
  21. Ahh, the Digifiz digital clocks. I've seen a couple fo these for sale on ebay. I'm sure one could be made to fit a Mk3, but it would only really be good for show use as the speedo is in kph only.
  22. Politics being the second worst...
