  2. I can recommend Magnex exhausts. I Fitted one to a Fiesta Si I owned 9 years ago. Sold it to my mum. She's still got the car. Chassis is falling apart, but the Magnex is still going strong!!

  5. The RamAir filter is highly rated, but I found it to be a little too loud at mid-throttle for my liking. I wonder how it compares with the BMC CDA induction kit on sound?
  6. I need to replace one of the rear arch trim and sideskirt on the left hand side of the car. Does anyone know what parts & tools are required to do this? This job is not covered in the Bentley manual.
  7. Note that a knackered relay could still show a + output voltage when engaged, but be incapable of flowing the amps required by the fuel pump.
  8. There is a relay that controls the fuel pump, check this first (assuming you've already checked all fuses). It is relay number 18 or relay number 12 (depending on model year). The arrangement of relays in the fuse box is as follows: 19 20 21 22 23 24 13 14 15 16 17 18 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 ---------FUSES---------- Hope this helps.

  10. Yes, the indicators on them do work. This would enable you to do a smoothed bumper if you don't mind losing front foglights.
  11. Re the poll, I would get an Audi S3 3.2 Quattro with DSG. But it's got a VR6 engine so it still counts.
  12. Jcorallo - what you say about the ECU & idle speed makes sense. I will have to study the Wiring diagram in my Bentley manual to see where this connection is made and which wiring looms are needed. Nickbee - your help on this is greatly appreciated, if you could provide some underbonnet shots that would be great. As and when I do this, I'll be sure to get photos of the fitting to help out anyone else that wants to undertake the conversion.

  16. While browsing a US forum, I found these rather tasty headlamps with dual integral indicators, angel-eye sidelights and R32 lens-type lo-beams. Gotta be the ultimate headlamp kit for the Mk3.   17. Has anyone attempted fitting air con to a Mk3 using genuine VW parts from a breaker's. I have an aircon specialist just over the road that can gas and test the system for me once fitted. I just need to know what parts are required. I know I will need: behind-dash heating/ventilation box. engine-mounted compressor reciever-drier unit (must be new) Condenser rad. all hoses Wiring loom, switches & relays Is there anything else? Will I need to change my radiator for example? The dash will definitely have to come off, but is it possible to do the job with everything else in-situ? Any help wou
  18. Does the Corrado engine not have a longer-throw crank, though? Not too sure.
  19. You would need to get your crank reground before fitting it into the new block. This doesn't actually cost that much if you remove the crank yourself and send it into the regrinders on its own. It gets sent back with a new set of shims, ready to go on.
