  1. I am now back on the road, thanks to bennyk for some of the bits I needed and a trip to Stevens vw dismantlers in chelmsford for the rest. I have managed to do a few miles and am loving the car, I will post some photos when I work out how to but it is a very unexciting standard vr6 and I intend to keep it that way. I have removed the wife's driving privileges until further notice.

    New vr mods

Hi I've owned 2 vr previous and now I'm itching to get another. My plan is to find a cheapest 3dr and rebuild the engine, renew all the suspension parts, coil overs, bigger brakes etc then eventually TURBO!! I've just recently bought a new house with plenty garden for a' PROJECT' well that's what I keep telling our lass, and so far she's okay with it Now engine mods! I can't afford to buy a load of turbo parts and fit them, or even go straight to stealth. My plan is to rebuild the engine, and add 263 cams, and a few smaller mods ready to turbo at a later date So 1st question What sort of powe

    New vr mods

The sp 263 cams were originally designed for use in turbo applications. People started fitting them to naturally aspirated engines and found they were great there also. I had sp 263 cams n/a and produced 206 bhp with map. The engine felt more Torquay and revved up much quicker. Was a great mod. I have recently gone turbo and can confirm they perform excellently now also. 263's are the ones to go for.

  7. Hi all, we have just bought ourselves a 1994 vr6 which we will be picking up this weekend, hopefully photos will then follow. Had originally been looking for a v6 4motion but couldn't resist this one when we saw it.

  9. That's exactly what I needed mate. Much appreciated!! I would definitely have a look at the compensator if you've lowered your car. Unsure how to go about it as I haven't set mine up yet but will look into it and see what I can find out:) thanks again!

    VR6 Info

I think Rados were all obd1, the early ones had distributor and the later ones had a coil pack, there may have been other minor differences but it beyond my puny knowledge if there were. Engine code will be abv and most parts would be generic between early and late.

Is it a road car too? Do you have a cage? I've cut the door skins out, removed everything pretty much that's not a drivers seat, removed all the sound deadending (fun job) and gone lexan windows. Cutting the spare wheel well out and replacing with a ally sheet is supposed to be good for 20kg too which is on my to do list. Depends how far you want to go with it. Obviously you can always look at carbon parts too. HTH
