Polishing manifold tips

Considering having a go my slef after seeing some good DIY results.

iv been told i will need:

electric sander (square bottomed)

wd40

water

for when you get to the higher grits.. you have to Wet sand

rubbing alcohol

and metal polish for the finale

any other tips

just keep going mate , when you get bored and your arms really really hurt you are about half way there!!!!!!!

the longer you take the better the end result .....

make sure you use each grade of sandpaper long enough to remove the scratches from the previous grade, after a while it will look like brushed aluminium... then you are nearly ready to polish with autosol or belgom....

looking good :) . perseverance i say , makes all the difference . some how got roped into doin a 16v GTi KR full polish on the manifold half way there :S dremmel came in uses full for removing the casting seams down the side of the mani ;)

go to machine mart and get the drill attachment polishing kit, it cost about 5 quid a kit and you get one felt wheel one cotton finishing wheel one spindle and coarse and fine block paste, it works wonders and at a fiver a throw you might as well get a couple for when the polishing bug take hold
