Timw 0
I was wondering if anyone had any advice on this subject. i'm looking to order a decat pipe maybe from raceland or a supersprint one from venom. How easy are they to fit? The supersprint one mentions having a hole to insert the lambda probe into, does anyone know if the raceland one does too?Tim
kilokilla 0
yes mate raceland also has lambda hole its just an unbolt and bolt on job however generally bolts rust right up and dont want to undo so you may find you need to grind them off and i would use new nuts and bolts to fit new decat pipe mate. marty.blake7 0
Out of interest, how much of a gain do you get from fitting a decat pipe?
jb9999 0
Contrary to popular belief , a standard cat only restricts gas flow of exhaust fumes by 2%. So, if this equates to bhp, you will only get 4bhp tops by decating. Plus you will have the hassle of putting the cat back on every time its MOT is due. If it costs more than a £100 for a decat , it's an expensive 4bhp to me.
VR6Rich 3
Decats are really only worth it with charged VR's due to the increase in back pressure.
vr6 g3 0
how much are they??Bought a raceland decat over the weekend from a stand at dubfreeze for £42, I'll try get the guys details if anyone wants them.
Justicevr6 0
The 2% difference that was mentioned earlyer is given that the cat is in new condition,The cat on my motor has done 65K so I would imagine that I would notice a big improvement if I were to decat. vr6 g3 0
I wasn't too sure on a decat at first but after buying a raceland decat pipe for £42, i thought it would be worth a try and i would say you can tell a difference mainly from 3-4k it pulls easier up towards the redline.
