drummie 0
Hi there.I'm no expert, as you'll gather (haha) and I'll try to be as clear as possible.I own a P-reg Golf VR6 Hignline. I have just bought, as a project for myself, an N-reg Golf VR6 Highline engine. Done about 90K. All running fine except value seal leaking on #5. I've stripped it down as far as head off and bout to take off the crank etc.My plan was to recon the bottom and top half, and then do a swap over in to my 1997. Now, i was reading that there are differences between the OBD-1 and OBD-2 and here is my question. Can I not put this engine in my 1997? Or will it be ok. What are the differences between the 2 engine designs? I know the throttle housings are different between the 2 engines. This is what I have just found out and this is why I'm suddenly concerned. I'm gonna have to use loads of bits off my existing engine to do the swap over. IE, inlet manifold and injectors etc...Any advice wud be great before I start spending loads of cash on getting the block engineered. Cheers.Dave. %-
