you can ad a phew more to that list

all cars that use the :

v6 and r32 engine , the w12 engine is 2 vr6 engine's welded together, the v5 engine is a vr6 missing one cilinder %-6

Apparantly there is one other. I was reading the October issue of one of the VW performance mags, not sure which, Golf+ perhaps and it made mention of a Mk4 Golf Gti using the VR6 (12v) engine, in the US only.

lol No, I ain;t that stoopid! x) I'll try and find the article. It wasn't the 2.9 24v engine, it was an early Mk4 (probably for the US market) which used the AAA 2.8 12v engine.

Found it. October issue of Golf+ p 107. It was in reply to someone looking for a donor engine for his Mk4 golf:

"There is still a Golf 4 GTI model available in the US that during its earlier production used a 12v 177PS 2.8 VR6 engine witrh the code AFP and was front wheel drive"

I misread it as a AAA engine in my original post, wnyone know the difference?

anyone have the faintest idea why vw invented the V5 engine?? it baffels me :? :P also how easy is it to convert the stateside mk4 vr6 golf into rhd? or transplant that engine to a rhd mk4 over here ?

is it still called a vr6 in the ford, wudnt mind seein a pic of that.

also should consider doing a list of what its been converted into, eg: polo, lupo, seat ibiza, mk2 golf, mk1 golf, cabby, rallye............. maybe thats another topic
