I was reading the October issue of one of the VW performance mags, not sure which, Golf+ perhaps and it made mention of a Mk4 Golf Gti using the VR6 (12v) engine, in the US only. It was in reply to someone looking for a donor engine for his Mk4 golf:"There is still a Golf 4 GTI model available in the US that during its earlier production used a 12v 177PS 2.8 VR6 engine witrh the code AFP and was front wheel drive"I misread it as a AAA engine in my original post, wnyone know the difference? I wonder how many T4 VR6 has been produced but Volkswagen has no idea (better, they says they do not have time to do this search). Anyone has infos about?
