Which engine is best for a 1.4 Mk4 Golf?? Cheers

Hi all how u doing ? Sorry to ask a question that’s probably been answered many of times.

 

I was thinking of changing the engine in my Mk4 for something a bit more powerful.

I really want a Mk4 r32 but are becoming quite rare to find the right one. So I was thinking if I could get a r32 engine in. But after some research it seems like a pain in the ass and big bills.

 

What engine would you recommend?

Which mods?
