Guitarjack92 0
Hi guys, needing some help on a sprint car project I am doing with a 24v 2.8 4motion engine and gear box. I bought a 05 BMW e46 compact a year or so ago and decided I wanted to build a sprint car/time attack/hill climb monstrosity with it. A good friend of mine owns a mk2 golf with a vr6 in it and we figured it would be a brilliant idea to try put a vr6 in the BMW (dont hate). So last week I bought a mk4 golf vr6 4motion which has a fully running engine, gear box and drive train but here's my issue; I want rid of the Haldex unit, so is it possible to simply fabricate a drive shaft that fits from the gearbox straight to the rear diff of the BMW axle? Obviously I would have to match up the diff ratios, VR6 front to BMW rear, i would just have custom ring gears etc machined by my local machine guy. All of the fabricating I will be doing my self. Its my understanding this would also give 1:1 power from front to rear without the Haldex unit also? Any other advice or stuff i've not thought of would be appreciated greatly.
