Hi all,

So my check engine light came on yesterday as I was driving my 2008 VW Passat 3.6L, got it read by a scanner. Scanner gives me a reading for a Fuel Pressure Sensor at first according to the guys at a local shop. Then this morning as the car is being driven check engine lights goes away. Wasn't reset or anything it just turned off. A few hours later on the same day while the car is being driven around town light comes back on again. Get it scanned again at a different shop to see what it is and now they're saying it's the Fuel Pressure Regulator. So now I'm worried, keep in mind this car has about 105,000 miles on it. The car has never stalled on me and it runs fine. Only issue is at times when I try to start it, sometimes it will kind of hesitate. If the Fuel Pressure Regulator is bad does that mean I will have to replace my whole Fuel Pump? Should I even be driving the vehicle at this time until it gets replaced? Any feedback is appreciated.
