VR6OC News Bot 30
Shelby-authorized builder Classic Recreations has created a stunning Shelby Mustang for a Sheikh from the Middle East. Dubbed Blurple GT500CR 900S, the car started its life as an original Mustang fastback, in this case a 1967 model and features completely new front suspension from Rod and Custom Motorsports with QA1 coilovers in front and Varishock units in the rear. The car also received and upgraded rear suspension and a G-Link 4-bar setup from Total Control. Under the bonnet, the original engine has gone and in its place company’s technicians installed a huge 7.0-liter V8 from Ford Performance. The 427 cubic-inch unit complemented by a Procharger F1-R supercharger system and FAST XFI injection delivers 770 hp to the rear wheels. Other specific upgrades include a set of six-piston calipers from Wilwood, a custom MagnaFlow exhaust, a VaporWorx fuel pump and a set of bespoke 18-inch wheels shod in BFGoodrich Rival tires. The interior has been thoroughly overhauled and features the typical high-level of finish that Classic Recreations delivers on each project. The seats are beautifully finished and have an extra lowering bolstering to cater to the buyer’s body, while the armrests also have the Sheikh’s family crest embroidered into them. There’s also a new sound system with JVC headunit and Kicker speakers, Old Air Products air conditioning system and new gauge units from the Carroll Shelby Signature range. The Blurple GT500CR 900S model is a bespoke sports car hand assembled in Oklahoma and the entire process, from first order to delivery, took 14 months. The car was built for a Sheikh from Saudi Arabia, while the pricing starts at $234,000. View the full article
