chippy 34
Currently sorting out the wiring in my mk2 vr6. Im using the mk3 VR6 fuel tank, however the plug off the loom doesn't fit the vr6 fuel pump Although both are four pins, u can see the grooves on the plug doesnt match on the fuel pump. Have i missed something here or does anyone have the plug i need? Thanks
boab3 164
Get a plug from mk3 cut and solder to existing mk2 loom.how did you find fitting the mk3 tank?was it an easy fit?
VR6Pete 1,456
My mk3 tank went in a treat on my old mk2. If you have a terminal removal tool just remove the plug off terminals and fit the VR6 one save messing with soldering iron near a fuel tank
CustomJ 2
I found this issue today actually. I swapped the plug for the VR6 one. The wires are the right colours, but the pins are different sizes so you can't swap them over. -J VR6Pete
chippy 34
Thanks for the response guys On 04/06/2016 at 8:30 PM, boab3 said: Get a plug from mk3 cut and solder to existing mk2 loom.how did you find fitting the mk3 tank?was it an easy fit? Fairly straight forward, getting the tank straps on where a pain. Also, lining up the fuel tank neck to fit nicely behind the fuel filler cap.
boab3 164
What did you do with fuel pump accumulator box under the car?
CustomJ 2
Got rid of that. You don't need it. If you are using the mk3 lines there is a fuel filter under the car instead. Use that. -J boab3
boab3 164
I'm sticking with mk2 lines just have to mod feed line under car to take in line filter in place of accumulator box/pump
