Subaru has announced a new record attempt on the 37-mile Isle of Man TT course with rally driver Mark Higgins behind the wheel.One-Off Subaru WRX STI Time Attack-01
Jointly developed by Prodrive which was responsible for the design and build, and Subaru Tecnica International (STI) for technical assistance, the one-off Subaru was specifically engineered for the Isle of Man TT Course. Rally driver Mark Higgins will drive an all-new 2016 Subaru WRX STI time attack car and will try to beat the old record, which was also set by him in 2014. Back then, Higgins has achieved an average lap speed of 117.51 mph (189 km/h) over the legendary 37-mile course, completing the lap in 19 minutes and 15 seconds.

“Dominick Infante, National Manager of Product Communications, Subaru of America said: We are excited to be back and running on the Isle of Man TT course, this is one of the most amazing road courses in the world and the Isle of Man TT is one of the most exciting races of the year. We have previously run the TT Course in near-stock Subaru WRX STIs, but this year we set out to design the ultimate WRX STI for this circuit.”Unfortunately the company didn’t provide any technical details. The Isle of Man TT runs from May 28 through June 10 and we cannot wait to see the video of this new record attempt.
