dom.joy 87
Test fitted the wheels at the weekend. (ignore tyre being on wrong side, it was top of the pile) 20160214_132633 by Dominic Joy, on Flickr 20160214_135842 by Dominic Joy, on Flickr 20160214_140822 by Dominic Joy, on Flickr Really like them despite not having the best 'stance' but I don't want any rubbing on track so they'll be fine. VR6Pete 1,456
I like those wheels - I would rather go for practically any day over looks... Whats the point of having a SC VR6 if you cant "drive" it ! dom.joy
dom.joy 87
Yeah exactly. The BBS are fine but at the moment if I drive in the wet then I have to clean or at least dry the dishes otherwise they tarnish
c00k 435
Looks much better on those wheels buddy. Front with the 312 brakes look spot on, maybe paint the calipers to finish it off nicely. dom.joy

dom.joy 87
Think I'm going to try a copper colour. I don't want them to really stand out like red or something would. bennyk
bennyk 1,238
To be honest I normally just do mine gloss black

c00k 435
Gloss black, if you don't want them to stand out. hammerite direct to metal gloss black would work fine. Or halford sell caliper paint, if it any good I don't know I've never used it.

As theyre only 312 brakes so nothing really special like porsche brakes which I would want to show off. I think the discs pretty much filling the wheels is enough. dom.joy 87
Thanks guys. Spacers turned up last night and the rears wouldn't fit over the hub lip so they're going back to be machined. Annoying but the seller is bring very helpful.
dom.joy 87
Spacers arrived back with machine shop today, and they have said they will be machined and sent back out for delivery tomorrow. Bloody hope they fit this time. ky_uk

dom.joy 87
Made an undertray to protect the piping I used for MAF relocation. Quite pleased with it for a first attempt and should do the job untill I get something made from metal sheet 20160304_154530 by Dominic Joy, on Flickr Added a Speedhunters banner, not to everyone's tastes. dom.joy 87
So I have decided to change up the golf a little over the next few months. Having come to terms with the fact I doubt I will do track days in it I want to use it more and make it a little more comfortable. So I am going for a subtle amp/sub install, false floor and air ride. Then tidy some bits of paint up and drive it. Made a start on the sub install. Started with a frame. 20160911_164018 by Dominic Joy, on Flickr Made a sub box 20160916_163349 by Dominic Joy, on Flickr 20160916_174541 by Dominic Joy, on Flickr In place 20160916_174634 by Dominic Joy, on Flickr Plan is to lay the false floor over the top and carpet it with as close to OEM as possible. Looking to have a hinged section in the middle maybe with some other trick bits. Then air ride will sit on rear seat base. May find another set of rear carpets as mine went in the skip.
