Hi,

Have an aluminum sump on my VR which has a small crack and is weeping so needs replacing and I want to replace like for like.

It was on the car when I brought it & I am sure that the previous owner said it was off a V6 Motion rather than from an R32.

Does anyone know if the 4 Motions sumps are a straight fit on the VR opposed to having to change the oil pump if using an r32 sump or the best way of finding out what car the sump is from without taking it off?

Thanks,

Zak

4 motion sump is a straight swap for the VR sump, longer bolts may be advisable if your retaining the sump gasket. The r32 sump is shallower and has a different shape to maintain the oil capacity. Some 4 motion sumps have a blank instead of the oil quality sensor, all r32 sumps will have the sensor.

Thanks so assume that the 4 motion sump is aluminium? I'll see if my mechanic can tell me which one it is when I next see him
