Woodie1991 52
Hi guys decided to start a build thread on my caddy at the moment its ready for mot but id thought id show you guys how It looked when i got it.The plan was to buy a cheap mk3 golf and put a 12v vr6 lump in it but then the caddy came up for sale for cheep I paid £300 notes for it and it came with a vr6 engine and box.oh yeah and half stripped the lad had crashed hisbvan an used mine as a spares van. First up was a test fit . After that pulled the mot or back out and cleaned up the bay. Timing chain and guides were next. Got the engine back together. Ready to go in. She's in. Got the coilovers on and managed to get a seat inca front end for cheep. VR6Pete, Bealieboy and reynolds9000

Woodie1991 52
I've seen that in the flesh a guy called Danny did the swap and sold it on to who ever has it now it's a nice van, mines staying tatty on the out side for now I might get a roof rack and some ladders for a laugh. Woodie1991 52
Ok so I went with the wide track mostly cause I had all the bits I I like the wide track, which was a good thing because it meant I had the 288 up front fitted some cheap coilovers upfront till I can save for some proper ones. so after that I started to bolt up the front end and started looking like a van again. it's abit tight to the front panel but there's loads of room at the back which is nice to no as I plan to turbo at a later date for now i got this 6 branch and made the side exit. also got told the standard van front mount wasn't upto the job so got a poly flex one woks great so after that I played with the rad setup I originally wanted to use the vr6 fans but the wasn't enough room and the inlet was hitting them I decided on some slim line jobs they didn't cost me out and work a treat. ended up making a air intake pipe which came out ok to VR6Pete, Dave_ciw, D11PS and 2 others

This one won a trophy at Leeds festival to. I have a black rolling shell sits on top of a shipping container in my yard, I use to keep my large compressor in the back of it! If its up there out of the way they won't steal it hahaha I also have a spare vr engine hahaha daveyboy

Dave_ciw 507
1.9 sdi the diesel pump was broke and it had done 180k so was in need of a replacement.Yeah mine was a TDI just wondering how easy the swap would be diesel to petrol.... However I shouldn't even be considering this sh*t I have a turbo build underway!
Woodie1991 52
Ha there easy enough they use the same fuse box and I think you can use the standard van drive shafts and stuff to keep the original track fuel pump wise I used a mk4 1.8t one which fits straight in the standard tank.
