It's alive! https://vimeo.com/127356810 Another box ticked on my bucket list.......own a supercharged car! Love that noise!

Got a few more bits done this week, not as much as I would have liked as works been busy and I've been waiting on bits including the longer belt for the charger that's coming from America and is silly

Finally had some time recently to get a start on fitting the air ride onto the car, I managed to get a hardly used Airlift V2 digital set up with twin compressors at reasonable price, Started with s

Unfortunately still waiting for my new aux belt and after the email I just got from ecs in the states will be for another couple of weeks, so got some other little bits done on the car including getting these painted at last, really didn't like em in white and thought they'd look to similar to my wintercults in silver so gold it was! Got them prepped over the last week or so, they were a bit rough round the edges not with damage just the finish, which I suppose is because they're motorsport wheels more than show wheels. So had to give em a bit of love.............. Worst job ever rubbing down in between those little spokes!

Then put a little bit of primer (which happened to be white in the gun) 9655514ca075fd3bc2bc73309a204f5c.jpgb3670a68cbb3cf92587b1ac8d045f7ce.jpg

Then the oven was empty at lunch so got them in there, 1ffa68a1792a87ac11e8cd77af6b1678.jpg

A bit of basecoat; 69777f51f2438a03263e8882dd7a8ded.jpg3f6dbeac33bf59f96a692c197e58891b.jpgWas tempted to leave em like this or put matting agent in the clearcoat, but thought f~<k it I've spent that long rubbing them down I want em shiny! 0f97ad40cb35073c96d86166a7f45f0b.jpg they're not perfect but they'll do! Now just need a couple of tyres and to get em on!

Guess is 7ribs like standard belt.

6rib belt will also work perfectly fine.

Double sided.

Just the length you need.

So the code for your belt would be...

7dpk????

Or

6dpk????

The 4 ???? Are the length of the belt in mm.

So if you needed 1700mm your belt would be

7dpk1700 or 6dpk1700.

Ring up afew places like euro car parks, GSF, and big car parts place. give them that belt number and see what the closest match is.

A few mm either way will be fine as you can either tighten tensioner of slacken off tensioner.

And very surprisingly no oil, fuel or exhaust leaks to sort out! Though it hasn't moved yet since having the charger, injectors, fuel pressure reg, supersprint manifold, Ecu, steering column, short shift gear linkage and cables, front 312mm brakes, braided hoses, dot5.1 fluid, plugs, leads, oil, sump, suspension top mounts, wheels and more! So quite a lot to go wrong! Fingers crossed for the first drive next week!

So my excitement was short lived as the VF charger developed a leak from the pulley, which once the oil got up to temperature got worse. I'm not the most patient person in the world and really wanted the car back on the road. So after a chat with Dips as I knew he had a freshly rebuilt VF9 which unfortunately for me he had just sold , not all bad news though as he had a nearly new Rotrex set up ! So determined to get the car on the road (and out of the workshop) asap I bit the bullet and bought it( the new bathroom will have to wait)7041a2d7459119fdcd4a7dd8d9c49679.jpg

In the last couple of weeks I've also added a mocal oil cooler 9b58c1231820dd2b9bf6db556e87c008.jpg

Broke the crack pipe changing the oil cooler 95381d503ffd6595d5a43ce6cb6088bf.jpg front end off and a new pipe from VW ordered as I couldn't be bothered to wait for a stainless one as I just wanted it back together by now! Though it did make fitting the oil cooler much easier, 93ac7e8a6bc46cfa73e51f9a40ac1aff.jpg

Always loved some of the old jap stuff so thought why not! 89c2a59b8742d5c0514eade1314642b4.jpg50d6154a67afd1d866864cbed90af506.jpg had to get some longer hoses made up for it.

Then picked up the Rotrex last night 5782bf1d3f35d86405625ec640a98141.jpg next to the VF 8772484390504ab06a6e004ea578012c.jpg and got it on there today and all seems pretty good at the moment............. Fingers crossed touch wood etc! 01bb29565a32fad2b86aebb2f36195b5.jpg

Ben, you'll be getting shot for that! Could I look after your car if you do?!

Sorry wrote out a massive update but only about 10% came out! so I rewrote it but a lot shorter above! It's ok it was only about £200 remember, so we'll have to go without a sink or something!

Oh and back on the road! 0d5388e939e5edb64075ab8b17f6dd75.jpg
