I tired to hand paint my rear VR6 badge red, with a small artist brush. I went for hand painting at 1st as I wanted to keep the black outter edge. And didn't want to mask it all up. But it came out s

You certainly have some skills !

What an awesome looking car.

Would love to have the skill set to be able to do things like that myself, but sadly I don't so I gotta pay others to do it :-(

Air ride is my next step to ! How do you find it comfort wise ?

Cheers for the appreciation mate, it's been abit of work, as i do it all single handedly, one or twice i've got a mate to help, but under my supervisions...

I dislike other people working on my car, as i can't afford the expensive/good garages, so i would have to go to the cheaper ones, and then standards drop. And can usually do a better job my self!

Quality means doing it well when no one is looking!

The ride is so much better with air, while aired up at driving height it's more comfortable than standard springs! and rolling low is better than coilovers by miles, but it's no where near as soft/good as at driving height.

I also run a 8 valve system, so I don't get any bag transfer when cornering. because if you run a 4 valve system, air can move between either rear bag, or between either front bags, causing the car to lean more to one side. Known as bag transfer, best way to combat this is to run an 8 valve system. (or specially placed check valves).

Where is the compressor situated? Any photo's of that?

The compressor' date=' valves, water traps, and everything else is under the false floor in the boot.

ditched the spare wheel, and used the spare wheel well too..

I just chuck one of my winter wheels in the back when going shows, or long drives :D

would have to take my adapters and stuff off if I wanted to use the standard spare wheel,

so it just easier for me to use one of my winter wheels, and there the same radius, and no low MPH rating :)

i'll see if i can dig some pics out of the boot build for you now buddy.

I do have a full build on my local VW forum. www . So-Wal . co . uk

but you have to be a member to view it..

it's free to sign up if any one wants to have a read..

Cheers guys she's still not totally back together yet, as i'm waiting for my new coolant lines.

but so far in the engine bay she's had....

Air con, evap, pcv, carbon canister, expansion tank deleted.

Throttle body coolant line will be deleted when new coolant lines turn up.

Re-located washer bottle, and power steering bottle.

All looms lengthened and ran through chassis legs.

Battery re-located to boot. with 2nd batter and split charge system for air ride.

All new gaskets and seals.

New none air con belt.

Chains were done less than 10k ago and the guides still looked all mint.

New water pump, new crack pipe, new thermostat.

Re-conditioned thermostat housing.

Re-condition power steering pump.

Re-condition power steering metal pipes, and new flexible pipes.

Re-conditioned started motor. Mounted up-side down, making all the wire and connection on the bottom.

Re-conditioned servo and master cylinder. ABS unit still needs to be re-conditioned.

New rad with build in expansion tank, soon to have slim line fans.

Injectors rebuilt, new spark plugs. new fuel filter.

Gas flowed upper and lower inlet manifold.

Gas flowed exhaust manifold, soon to be heat wrapped.

Already fitted de-cat, deleted the silencer and a fitted twin back box previously.

Ported and polished throttle body, with knife edged butterfly.

Gas flowed intake pipe, flipped MAF.

BMC CDA air filter, with force feed to behind lower front bumper.

Polished upper intake manifold, lower intake manifold, belt tensioner, alternator, spray bar, throttle body, intake pipe, dip stick pipe, oil catch tank, side of cylinder head, and all fitted with new stainless polished nuts and bolts.

Painted the 4 pulleys red, plus the top of the dip stick, and there colour coded to match my wheels, and air tanks.

Re-conditioned and painted the engine block, power steering pump, starter motor, alternator bracket, engine mounts, black.

Cleaned and painted gear box silver, polished all visible bolts on gear box, and polished the ends of the gear linkage.

Removed all sound deadening and heat proofing from bulk head, and colour coded all nuts, bolts and washer black.

R8 oil cap, red HT leads, strut brace with colour coded mounts,

Braided fuel lines, with some polished fancy clamps waited to be fitted.

Also have a spare head I'm going to be work on and fit later in summer, hopefully with cams , and maybe a bit of porting,

The plastic guides for the HT leads look brand new... are they? or again reconditioned by yourself? Need some new ones as a previous owner thought it wise to glue them in!!

re-conditioned mate, i clean them with soapy water, not much soap as it sometimes leaves white marks,

dry them thoroughly, heat them up a heat gun not to much so they don't warp, this bring back some of the colour, and while there cooling but still warm i apply chemical guys new look trim gel, it's brilliant on black plastic, i used it loads on the trim and arches on my GTi.
