michael5556 247
Yeah, that's sorted. It's all progress. Oil return is now leaking too. So will fix that today and then try again. It might be due to old fuel, or not enough fuel in the tank. But I think u can only fill 2 cans at a time...
jims13 6
I should have also said, that no ecu tuner can offer support if yoivdo not have a working obd port. It really is a must do. And will save you time and money , when diagnosing anything on the car.
VIW28 29
^^ This!Did you get an OBD port to install yet?

sedge 7
You can go down a scrap yard and grab a port out of any vw from mid 90's. Hopefully there should be something down the local scrappy!
michael5556 247
Yeah will have a look. Thanks.
michael5556 247
Not having much look this week! Turbo oil feed decided its going to have a small hole in. Now my ignition barrell has decided to not work lol going to wire up the starter solenoid to a switch tomorrow and see if that's works.
ashmk3 0
It could of been your ignition barrel after all this then. Mine went funny on my mk2. Turned over but wouldn't for then some days it would then use be stranded in a car park. Then changed it and all was fine.
michael5556 247
Right, no luck so far. It runs but very hot. Got rid of the dump valve for now. Fuel pressure is at 4bar. Do I need more than a 1/4 tank with the Bosch 044?What air fuel ratio does every run? It's on around 12-13 on idle. Too low?
jims13 6
fpr depends on ecu mapper, united motorsport use the stock 3 bar , as will the old c2 stuff.. stealth i believe map what you have in. what issues are you having
michael5556 247
It will idle for around 20 seconds then go lean and just stall. Randomly. Also it's not boosting and I have a suspicion that the wastegate is stuck open? The turbo is also making a rattling noise which worries me a bit. It starts now though. I have a video of the afr gauge. Give me a minute...

UnitedMotorsport 55
Sounds like at least one cylinder is low on compression too.
michael5556 247
Is that due to the low comp pistons or it's just knackard?
ashmk3 0
Do a compression test, that way you'll know if it's across all of them (due to low comp pistons) or only one knackered . Did you change the gasket etc what bolts are in there?
michael5556 247
Yeah I will do one later towards the end of the week. The gasket is reasonably new and it has arp head and rod bolts. I might take the head off seeing as they are re usable bolts and have a look what's going on down there. See what the compression test brings back.
michael5556 247
Will try and put it back down to 3 bar today and see if that makes any difference...
michael5556 247
Got it running mint on around 3.2 bar. Left it. 20 minutes later it spat its dummy out and was running very lean to the point where it would stall. After some research it turns out that the c2 chip doesn't need the lambda sensor plugged in on some older versions of software? Will try this today.
