craggsy 91
I can tell a difference between 95, 97 & 99 Ron in mine. Normal unleaded 95 mine runs like crap.Super unleaded 97 it runs fine but not quite right. But on Tesco 99 it runs way better....but the 102 in Germany it flies!!!
Ben Seabrook 4
Craig I presume that's because yours is mapped to run on the higher octane stuff though yeah ?
craggsy 91
Yes the guy who had cut built told me it was mapped on Tesco 99 so rude not to use it lol
bungy 2
I can tell the difference if I put a tank of V power in compared to normal stuff.
oldmandon 1
Must be me then...........Car seems to pull like a train regardless of what fuel I put in!!!!!!!!!!!
Ben Seabrook 4
Yes the guy who had cut built told me it was mapped on Tesco 99 so rude not to use it lollol true and when I had mine mapped I was told to map it for normal fuel and then you can put both in it otherwise if you map it for the higher ron it will run like a bag of brown stuff on the lower ron ! bells 5
so let me get my head round this , a std car will adapt its settings to accommodate various fuel ron , all of them being a compromise where as a remap is best suited to what octane it was mapped with , ie 99 ron
oldmandon 1
After a fashion. Map your car to run on standard fuel, and it'll work with all grades, map it for premium fuel and it'll run better on them but crap on standard fuel........Best to map for standard, just incase you can't get any premium....you never know

RsvRob 6
This may help, gained from my experience in mapping ;-)The cars are std spec then you can run '95 ron fuel with no issue. Running better fuel '97, '99 Ron will improve but not noticeably. If the car has been mapped to run '99 ron then use '99 only.... Octane boosters are for chavs lol They don't increase performance enough to worry about. You may aswell run '99 fuel. Or get it mapped :-)
