had the back end jacked up today on obd1 vr6 corrado as i was haveing a butchers at the calipers, because it was jacked up it developed an oil leak :( so i tryed finding out what it was and i couldnt quite make out where but it seems like its comming from a plug {wth a black wire to it} just above the oil filter, also looks like its comming from something just to the left of that plug, i have no idea what it is but it does have spanner flats on it, { up and to the left of the oil filter}, anyway does anyone know how to seal the leak on these items? im sorry i dont know the names yet, but im sure the black wire must be the oil temp? i do have a pic of the black wire/plug but im trying to work out how to upload it lol chears..

yea i think,if your talking about the hole with the copper circle? the sensor just unscrews from the engine? although mine seems to be the other way around,i.e its to the right of your filter, what is that thing on the right of the filter with the spanner flats sticking out? looks like it has a coolant line going to it? {oil cooler?}on mine its to the left of the filter, and looks like its leaking where it joins the engine, i could be wrong though, thanks..

Is this what you are talking about? if so just unscrew the sensor and use PTFE tape on the threads and screw it back in nice and tight.

Sorry to hijack your thread but the switch on top of the filter housing all on it own, is that the oil temp sensor for the mfd ??

I snapped mine off nad dont know weather its oil pressure or oil temp.. the one with the green wire going to it...

And bk to topic, if yours leaked out of the hole to the left of the filter housing, what you said was the copper ring, thats where the dip stick goes, i think theres a o ring there.. yours prob only leasked because you had the rear jacked up so high the oil level rose ablove the hole for the dip stick...

na one of my leaks is deffo not the dipstick hole, my vr6 looks abit different to this pic, but on mine just above the filter and to the right, theres a black wire with a plug that goes into the engine block, looks like its comming from there and also that thing thats to the right of the filter houseing in the pic above {oil cooler?} where it joins the block looks like its leaking there to, but only when being jacked at the rear, cheers,

thank you for all the replys, got this sorted today an absolute treat! i wanted to do an oil change anyway so it made sense to attend to these 2 leaks while it was drained out, 2 seals for the oil cooler and 1 o ring for the knock sensor, i also used abit of ptfe tape around that o ring to be 100% sure it wont leak, also new filter and 10w-40 mobil semi syn oil and jobs a gooden!
