houlahoop 0
Hi all, I've had my 97 VR6 parked at the bottom of the garden since december whilst we've been doing bits of work to it and waiting for the weather to get better. Because we only bought the car as a family project we havent really been in any rush to insure and tax it, but as we've been sorting out all of the little niggles that the car came with the urge to get it out on the open road has been getting stronger and stronger so we started to phone around for insurance. Baring in mind that we are both in our mid 30's with full no claims on the family s-max and 10yrs of company car experience, we thought that insurance would be relatively cheap, WOW how wrong were we!?!?!?!? We've had quotes ranging from £500 for a classic car policy to several thousand with main stream insurers, even so called specialist insurers have come in at over a thousand pounds. How happy were we when Morethan (who we have the family car insured with) matched the no claims discount and altered my current premium by £2 to accomodate the VR6.Just thought I'd let you all know about this as I was well impressed, and im sure that you'll all agree saving a few quid here and there on insurance helps to keep these less than economical beasts running
