Corrado VR6 Vacuum leak

This is starting to drive me crazy I've replaced all pipes now, but I still get a whining noise..

I've narrowed it down to it being this bit here under accelerator cable, as whenever I touch it I can stop the whining. But I can't see how it would effect it as it's just a spring isn't it?

I'm confused, should I go ahead and get a replacement part?

The idle also isn't completely spot on

it does sound strange mate but if that causing the noise then see if you can get a 2nd TB with that valve on ...

I took a look at mine the other day, and I am unsure what that valve actually does! mine, at least, doesnt appear to be connected to any pipes (although, I dont have much connecetd up in my engine bay at the moment) does your's have any hoses going into the unit?

nope not connected to anything which is why I'm confused!

could it be something like vibration, or even a red-herring? could be something around that area? thing is, it sounds more of a squeel than a vacuum leak?

if I hold it down long enough, I can actually make the engine stall which is why I'm lead to believe it is a vacuum leak??

isnt it just a damper for the throttle return to idle? by pushing it back your actually allowing the throttle to close slightly further than it normally would, and hense the engine can stall? Just my thinking, not fact!...
