harry 0
Hello,my mates just bought a mk2 16v track car from an independant specialist in the midlands, it's amazing, must have cost the original owner a fortune to build, anyway I was thinking about swapping my vr for another mk2, (love em) or do I modify my otherwise standard vr to make it a little more interesting? Would it respond well to being stripped of it's interior/ general weight saving ? How well do vrs go with a decent suspension kit fitted? Thanks for Reading, any help appreciated. Special K 81 0
I dont know about decent suspension, but my coilies only cost 160 and have transformed it in to a go kart type car with bags of power....all for 160...Weight shaving and good suspension and you could be whooping that mk2 ha ha. weight saving will always improve a car....just remember, v6 lump is heavy so need to try and balance the car maybe!?!?! Saunders82 0
My mk2 goes very well it's wide tracked stripped out and on coilovers. I really enjoy it you have to be very careful with lowering it to far because of how low the sump sits . My friend has a fully poly pushed mk2 gti 8v ill say his does handle better, were he has the ability to take a bend or roundabout flat out it i try it either i start wheel spinning or have to let off. Power wise you will have 175 bhp straight out the box and doesn't take to much to get to 200 bhp (then it gets expensive!!) were as his will be very pushed at 180 bhp that's if it's race cams carbs/throttle bodies. Imo a 16v would have really really special to beat a pretty much standard mk2 vr overall
bungy 2
Get your mk3 track prepped and be sure to tell us about your direct comparison between the 2.

CALICO 130
my obd2 is running 197 bhp and it only had a flter and backbox so with a shrick it would be over 200bhp i would have thought add cams and a remap and your looking at 210-
